I'd like to also add that this has more in common with National Treasure than Indiana Jones, especially with Nathan's "wtf?" comments when stumbling upon yet another puzzle room. I mean, didn't Indy find his treasures fairly early on -- only to have them lost in the hands of Nazi's soon after?

Also, like I said, Romancing the Stone. He's got Douglas' "everyman" snarkiness.

I'm embarassed for even knowing that movie though.... But it wouldn't hurt if the sequel had a slimy De Vito character in it.

OK, it's 4:20 AM. Thanks for listening. We've now hit page 2 at least.

I thought it had more in common with The Mummy than National Treasure or Indiana Jones.

Really though, it has a lot in common with all 3 movies, so it's mostly splitting hairs.

The term real Archaeologist prefer for people like that is "Grave Robber".  Usually preceded by explicits.

He didn't find the Grail until near the end, and he needed his dad's little booklet with the clues to solve various puzzles to get to it.

Or just looters. I just saw a special on them earlier, and you're right for the most part though. Kind of suprising that some situations can get close to the things we see in these fictional stories (multiple groups vying for the same discoveries..some armed and hostile).

My comparison to National Treasure is mainly how Nathan keeps thinking the next room he unveils will be the treasure room, only to be met with more puzzles. In National Treasure, Jon Voight (Cage's dad) quit because of that shit.

Hm, I might go read up on this game. Is it coming to 360, or is it a PS3 exclusive?

Seriously though, yes, it is nice to have something to justify the purchase. The game is robot jungle Jesus.

Sounds good. I'll likely pick it up when I eventually get the PS3. At least a year at this stage though. Here's to hoping the next revision brings back BC...

Beat it last night thanks to finally having a few hours to myself.  Man, those last few chapters were insane.  The game is definitely one of the best games I've played, ever.  It captures everything it went for so well.  It goes for, and achieves, the movie feel perfectly.  I just hope it's doing well sales wise so we can have a sequel, pronto.

PS3 owners need to start supporting this game.  Partway through this month's NPD thread over at GAF, they say that Uncharted only sold 117k copies.  Who the hell are the 5-6 million PS3 owners in NA and Europe who didn't pick this up?

Their marketing is weak. I just went to the game site. It doesn't have a single thing on the gameplay. They don't even have a real gameplay video. They have a video from some art guy talking about ranges in shaders with apertures. Whatever. I'm still not sure what the hell you do in the game, just that it has something to do with a wanna-be Brendan Frasier trying to find Drake's treasure. And guns.

They need to get the PR machine pumping.

Why don't you just download the demo? It convinced me to immediately leave my house and buy it.

[EDIT] At times you're going to be reminded of, say, ICO. Other times it'll remind you of Gears of War (AND even RE4 in some stages). Except it takes place in jungles.

If that isn't enough to appeal to you, then I don't know what to say.

Because of this: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/28191.html

And I don't own a PS3.

Because of what again? I don't know what you're trying to say. Are you saying there's not enough gameplay video out there? But there is.. Here's a gunplay one, for example.

I'm kinda disappointed that Uncharted isn't doing better on the charts myself, but apparently a sequel's pretty much guaranteed.

http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3164790

Their next game could be a Jak and Daxter game, or a sequel.  I know I'm much more interested in more Uncharted, but they supposedly claim in the interview that it's just a question of when, not if.

Blah!  I thought they were done with Jak.

If Naughty Dog does a new Jak and Insomniac does a new Resistance I'll go mad!  I need my R & C and Uncharted now damnit!

Don't get me wrong, I love my Jak and Resistance, but the Tools of Destruction ending just isn't fair.  At all.

No, he's just obnoxious. Honestly, if I had a PS 3, I'd probably pick this one up. Still, their marketing has been weak at best. That video is the most prominently displayed video on their site, and there are NO videos in their media section. Demos are all well and good, but I suspect most people won't download a demo of a game they haven't heard of.

Who gives a shit. God of War had zero marketing. Buzz made it blow up. Problem is, there aren't enough people playing this to create the buzz it deserves. Only P3 and Portal even stand up to it this year.

I died a lot.  And aiming was  a pain in the ass.  Now that might just be because I'm bad at gaming, or that I didn't give it enough time.  I was also playing it with Schild breathing down my neck, telling me how great it was.

Then he tweaked your nipple slowly, gently, between his thumb and forefinger and, with a soft exhalation of breath, slipped himself inside you.

Yeah. That will mess your aim up and leave you with a pain in the ass allright.

Relying on buzz is like playing the lottery. God of War released in March when there aren't a hundred other titles fighting for attention. I think it is foolish to expect buzz to save you during the holiday rush.

Up to that point I thought it was a pretty clever l2aim joke..

A nation consists of its laws. A nation does not consist of its situation at a given time. If an individual's morals are situational, then that individual is without morals. If a nation's laws are situational, that nation has no laws, and soon isn't a nation.
