I just saw Tecate in a bottle last week, I didn't even know you could get that.

I'm a certified beer snob, and Tecate is actually one of my top Mexican beers.  Does taste better out of the bottle though.

I would trust Tecate in a can more than in the bottle, honestly.

Bu then, I would just drink Modelo, prob. Though there are some honest-to-god craft mexican beers coming up now. I haven't had any yet, mind you.

I was looking for a hi-res version of the photo to use for something, and found out it is fake, sadly.

[music review]

Can't be real.

I don't see why not.  I can't see the name of the publication, and I've known more than a few people writing for student newspapers, local ad sheets, etc. who write that kind of thing constantly.

I hope the person who wrote that Chris Brown review doesn't like the Beatles or Jimi Hendrix or tons of other popular musicians who beat women.

Funny out of context, but there was a point there.

Right, because you're not allowed to appreciate someone's music and also say that they are an asshole and anyway it's ok to beat women if you play the guitar.

WTF is your point?

That it's hypocritical for Chris Brown to be rightfully crucified by tons of people for what he did to Rihanna when the same standard isn't applied to other popular musicians.  Is that a hard concept to understand?

Well, in fairness, he's also being crucified because his music is shit.

Which, to me, is the much more compelling argument.

Chris Brown has done more for misogyny than he has for music.

To be fair, you could argue that he has done more for astrophysics than he has for music, simply by virtue of staying away from it.

Yeah. I mean, we still study Wagner even though the guy was an anti-Semite who wrote that shit into his operas, James Brown was a terrible person, Jerry Lee Lewis, etc. The bad stuff is all part of the conversation now, and nobody excuses it, but the music still matters.

Officer, everyone else was speeding too!

No.  If you are a wife beater than you are a wife beater.  If your music is shit then your music is shit.  If you do both then you are a wife beater whose music is shit.

I can also hatel someone who is a wife beater and not hate their music and actually not be a hypocrite.
