Alright, I'm just curious. What did everyone think about the ending? That was the first video game in a long time that I felt moved by. It was so sad that his friends didn't get there on time. And Aigis sure changed over the last 1/4 of the game or so. She went from automaton to true feeling being who just happened to be a robot. For some reason, her being there at the end made it even sadder.

If I had any complaint it'd be that I wished they had some text summarizing what happened to the other characters later. That and that FES will probably not show up in America.

I will be so sad if Fes never makes it over. At least locally (as in, where I live in NJ), the game seems to have been very successful. SO, I think it'd be worthwhile for Atlus to give us the goods.  wink

AFAIK, Persona 3 has done will. I can hit a few people up for numbers sometime in October though.

Buddy of mine imported a Fes guide through PlayAsia. It's a pretty hardcore guide, but in JP of course.

Just from the pictures, there are some very....interesting, things in Fes.

I just finished it about 5 minutes ago. The credits are rolling right now.

So yeah, I thought it was an excellent ending. I thought it was going to go all End of Evangelion on us with the dissolving cultists and the floating into the eyeball sequence, but it turned around nicely. I really liked the two days of "open control" that you get so you can get closure on all the side stories. (I dunno about the rest of you, but I spent a lot of time running around to all the little side stories, like the cab driver, just because they were such nice touches.)

That said, I thought it was a really sad ending, at least for the protagonist. I kind of sat there at the last dialogue choice going "oh shit no, I'm not going to die now...". And ended up eating it anyway. cry

I thought the ending was very sad too. Actually, what made it sad for me was Aigis. She had been changing for awhile at that point and she seemed so lost yet so accepting of what was happening. In hindsight I realized she knew from at least that morning what was going to happen, if not earlier.

That, and the rest of them being so happy and excited and not getting there while you were still alive. Damn...

I want FES to see if it gives me a bit more closure on some of those stories. I wish in those last couple of days I could have gone to some of my social links and spent time with them.

From what I've read, Fes explains the ending in quite a bit more detail as well as giving you a better terminus for each SLink story.

Am I the only one who was disappointed with how much the ending focused on Aigis instead of the other characters?  I feel like Yukari, Akihiko and Mitsuru were with you the entire game and deserved a little more attention there.  Aigis always felt like an ancillary character to me, almost as much as the dog and the kid were.  Or at the very least, they could have developed Aigis better during the rest of the game so I felt more of a connection with her.  Hell, she was missing for a whole month near the end!

Yes and no. Aigis was developed pretty well by that point and I found it interesting to see how she was so affected by your death. The others not being there felt more "real" in a way in that, you don't always get to say goodbye. It also gave it more emotional impact. But, still, it'd have been nice to see them get there and see how things play out, especially if the game somehow took social links into account.

On Fes:

Seriously, which marketing hottie or whatnot do I need to sleep with at Atlus to make this happen?

Nnnnnnecropost.

My wife was out of town so I decided to pull a few Monad marathon sessions and then finally beat the game.  BTW, Lucifer + Satan on the end boss is  awesome, for real

I really haven't gotten choked up over an ending since Shadow Hearts: Covenant.

It was somewhat funny that I wasn't immediately getting what was happening.  "Hey, why am I so drowsy.  Perk up, everyone's going to be coming.  OHHH SHIT NO."   Then it's like the revelation scene in Fight Club where it all makes sense.   Cry  The stuff with Aigis at the end was just heart breaking.   I see why it all had to happen.. but goddamn.  If anything it highlights how awesome the narrative in this game was.

FES would be appreciated.  PLEASE.  As is, I could have used with a little more exposition at the end.  But still, one of the better endings in quite a while.

I agree with your entire post, but especially this part. For some reason it made it worse for me that it was Aigis, and her words towards the end "I will always protect you." about killed me.

Atlus invades schild's motherfucking?  Various sites are reporting that Atlus' company profile (shown here in Japanese on Bloomberg) has Persona 4 announced for next year... on the PS2.  Countdown to "this series demands HD" style rant?

Yea, couple days old. Doesn't bother me much.

Shin Megami Tensei mainline series is in dev for PS3 apparently. OR SO IT SEEMS.

That's what we need. A sequel to Nocturne. A game only 3 people have beaten.

I'll give a newborn child to Atlus if they give me Persona 4 on the PS2.

I didn't say my OWN child, sheesh...
