Darniaq linked to the Clone Wars cartoon (thread topic), not the Tales of the Republic cartoon.
It looks like it could be good, too. The style doesn't bother me much. I'm just wondering how many versions of it will be out on DVD before Lucas pumps out a special addition with Real Jango-Fett Voice (tm).

I linked to the 3D official trailer in the first part of my reply, but was referring to Azazel's "looks way too good" point about the Tales of the Republic bit in the second part.
I didn't scoop schild by more than 3 seconds though, as I went out to the Tales site to copy/paste the disclaimer at the same time he was writing his reply :)

Some post the trailer yet? Slashdot had it, but I felt like doing a public service or something. Blearg. I might be able to like it, except it has Dooku and Gen. Grievous in it. STUPIDEST FUCKING CHARACTERS EVER. I hate those characters. The style alternates between cool and annoying as shit. But those two characters make it real likely I'll hate this series. |

Of course Tales of the New Republic is fake. It's just some artist. They have no association (YET) with Lucasarts or Lucasfilm.
Also, it says it right at the top of the web page.

Just for the record, the Tales site did not have a disclaimer when I first posted it, only screenshots and the Star Wars Anniversary date at the bottom. I had no clue if it was anything at all when I first posted that here, and I was guessing that it was possible, but only because the screenshots looked decent. I watched the trailer of Clone Wars, and the art in most of it is very nice. I don't get why the clone troopers, vehicles and backgrounds look damn good, but all the "main characters" have a cartoony look? Yoda looks more like Gizmo from the Gremlins movies in the cartoony version. /shrug |
