No account name recovery? FAIL!

So my wife wants to start playing an MMO with me again. So I reinstalled WOW, did the account recovery cause I can never remember the account name for an old game... patched it all and we're playing the trial.

I also wanted to try and steer her twords LOTRO simply because I think she had more fun... its a more casual game. But turbine has absolutely no account recovery option? It's insane! You can recover your password... if you have your account name... but no way to look up your account via your email address?  Wow... they permanently lost me... forever. That's just plain stupid.

I'd be really surprised if that's the case. Even AC1 had account name recovery. Hopefully Calandryll is reading this and can point you in the right direction.

Basically, I found out that I have to call and wait on hold for CS in order to get this fixed. LAME
