YouTube: TorqueX Platformer Starter Kit Demo Video
This uses: TorqueX binary (free)
TGB-X Editor (currently open beta, will have a price associated)
The starter kit itself, which may or may not have an additional small price associated.

The best part of SWG was the easy account cancellation process.

That was pretty interesting.  The video is somewhat obviously time-compressed a bit, and the user is quite familiar with the process, but the effect is pretty neat.

Good points--it's a demo video, and in my personal opinion, 9 mins was a bit long to demonstrate the fundamental factor: given the starter kit, you can make a platformer completely with a GUI interface (zero scripting/programming whatsoever).

The only thing I wish was in the video (and I'm recommending it for the "pro version" of the video) is watching gameplay on the PC, and then cutting to watching gameplay on the XBox360...which is what TorqueX/XNA/Creator's Club is all about: being able to make a game on your pc, and playing it on your 360.

The video is sped up about 3x normal speed. It actually took just under 30 minutes (noted in the description). It is a little long, but I wanted to show the whole process from start to finish to show that the "drag and drop" stuff wasn't a bunch of BS. I would've liked to show some footage of the level being played on a retail XBox 360 aswell, but we were a little pressed for time. Anyway, thanks for the positive feedback. :)

Is there a higher-resolution version of this video available for download?

There was talk in the office of making one, but currently everyone is en route and/or prepping for GDC.

If you are going to be there, go up and get a demo (and play around with it yourself)--if not, I'll make sure I'll post about it when it's made :)
