Part of it's about being frugal with space, and part of it, well, I try and embrace the 'paperless society' idea as much as I can -- I'm looking forward to ebooks taking off enough to get ebook readers cheap and good enough so that I can scale down my bookcases. I'd like to convert everything to electronic because books simply take up too much space. Game boxes and manuals you never use, so why keep them? Huge binders full of games are silly, just put them on old CDR spindles fill the 100 cd spindles about 3/4 the way for easy searching -- you can sort through them almost as fast. Just lay them on the side and slide the cds down until you find the one you're looking for. Yes, they have more of a risk of getting scratched, but as long as you're careful, how often do you really go hunting through? The only thing you need game manuals or cases for is the CD key, hell if you're lazy you can just mail them to yourself through gmail as a plain text file for an offsite backup just in case your computer dies.

When everything is electronic, you can browse what you've got without even standing up :)  It's all a tribute to laziness. And that's my life's goal.

I would start a religion based on this, but I can't seem to find the will to get off my ass and file the paperwork.
