I'm headed to Miami for a 3 day business trip, extended for 2 more days so my wife and I can hang out and check the place out.

Any 'must sees' while we are there?

We get to stay at the Mandarin Oriental hotel, so that in itself will be a treat - but you can only hang out at the hotel for so long.

South Beach, of course.  And if you are going to have drinks or eat there go to Mango's Tropicana (Its facade is in Vice City even), it's a pretty cool place and it's owned by my friends dad so if you are going to give money to someone it should be someone I know.  No, dropping my name won't get you free stuff.

Yea, Lincoln (the main drag on South Beach) has some of the best gelato I've ever had - including the stuff in Italy. Really, you could spend the entire trip on Lincoln and have a good time.

I challenge that assertion, sir! (yeah, I was a fatty and ate FAR too much of the stuff when I was there)

Good job on picking a time of year when it's not disgustingly hot and humid down there. I was in Orlando in August, and it sucked.

Yah, I didn't plan the dates, it just happened that way - I'm happy about the time of year too.

I'll make sure and check out South Beach, sounds like fun.

Will it be warm enough to enjoy the beaches or is it too far into the wintery season?

I would imagine it'd still be in the 70s/80s.

So yeah, if you like that kind of thing.

I would love to check out Key West for a day too...not sure how long a drive it is out there, but it would definitely be scenic! I would avoid the University of Miami campus- they have more thugs on their football team than the average organized crime syndicate.
