Check any Australian news website today and you'll see the Irwin grief has been replaced with Peter Brock grief. This is useless news to most because you've probably never heard of him, but it's at least as big a website-destroying event as Irwin was earlier in the week. He was the god of driving big V8 Holden cars.

The King of the Mountain. He was pretty well known in racing circles, even outside of Australia. I saw him race sports cars in the 80s. He was pretty spectacular, at his best when controlling a car on the edge under braking.
