I'm just here to report on my latest adventure as the guy who lowballs buy orders.  I didn't go as low as the lowest buys on strontium clathrates, only sinking to 200.6 isk per unit which is less than one-tenth the actual value, but there are apparently three pilots that have sold me 164 units at that price.  Wacky!

POS reinforced-mode fuel. It usually goes for about 2k/unit, I think.

I'm getting Mezz up to speed on ice refining, so we can do some of that in about 2 weeks.

Um...what are you buying?

Strontium clathrates, pretty much on a whim since I am stockpiling it already from my ice mining ops.  It does have the benefit of being a commodity with actual player value, unlike frozen plant seeds.  Also note that I get one unit of strontium clathrates per ice chunk.  It would take me at least 11 hours to mine 164,000m3 of ice with my current setup.

I'm getting Mezz up to speed on ice refining, so we can do some of that in about 2 weeks.

We can already refine ice at 100% efficiency, if I am part of we.  My block right now is the tax, which I am hoping to take care of a little bit by running missions for the RSS agent.  My next jump will be to get in the cockpit of that Mackinaw I have in dry dock, first week of November if I stay on track.

Ahh right good. Whats the current tax rate? And what station is that from? I'll see if I can get a better one.

I'm running out of the RSS station in Aakari.  It's a fraction below 5% due to some RSS missions I ran in ages past.

If it is an RSS station, Antolin can probably get a good deal. They LURV him. I think my corp standing is almost 6.

If you can refine ice with no waste, I'll just stockpile for you.

I brought my thorax over last night, intending to run the lv1 agent there.  For faction, yes, but also to take a break from ice mining.

Heh, I'm doing the same thing with morphite. I'm betting on a price increase after Kali. Margin won't be nearly as good but hopefully the profit will be pretty decent.

Just go really, ludicrously low.  If I regret anything, it's not placing the order at 100 per instead of 200.  Or maybe 20.  I have even more now, and it's all in highsec.  /boggle

Jita has other, competing orders. There is a floor. Plus, I've filled 2/3 of my buy order already.

There are a lot of people who mine (including macro-mining) ice in high-sec for the Isotopes (POS and capital ship jump fuel).  This produces a tiny amount of Strontium, which is bulky and not very high value, volume-wise.  So they'll dump it for whatever they can get rather than bother moving it to a better market.

You are right, of course.  I wouldn't try this with nitrogen isotopes, which seem to be on the low side of 200 right now.  I can move a higher volume of isotopes that I mine myself for more profit than if I were to try pure trading.
