I found myself using a few to get to that point, but it's like Dreamfall I suppose (which probably hurt this game as Dreamfall was so good and I had bought them at the same time.) in that both are primarily about the story.
...which is why the "one acarde response mistake and you're dead" part drove me nuts. Story driven games and Dragon's lair reflex tests dont mix well imho. Case in point, the chase scene from the hotel. If you hadn't read a spoiler before hand you KNOW you will die several times until you learn the golden path through each part. Xilren

If this game had quicksaves it would be just about perfect. As it is I'm finding it really annoying to keep doing the rail shooter bit over and over again.

Yeah, the lack of available saves made it a bit frustrating at times. It was still worth finishing.

Oh, I'm finishing it. :-D I'm doing like you did and using a walkthrough. Which I kinda hate doing, but since the alternative is to spend 10x longer replaying long stretches of stealth missions, I'm seeing it as the lesser evil. As it is it still generally takes me a couple of times to get any given part right.

I thought about playing this again, but then I saw a mod for bloodlines to have a cool looking toreador and well... I just killed Grout.
Plus the 2.8 patch came out which is all kinds of cool

Hey Bloodlines is up to v2.8 (unofficial patch) now! That kicks ass. Also, gizka is about 80% done. I haven't played KotOR II yet, I'm holding out for their restoration to be completed. Here's to fans cleaning up games messed up by capitalist pressure!

If you want a cool looking player model in that game, I can't conceive of anything beating the Malk female.

I played through as Ventrue the first time. Kicking ass in a business suit rocks.
Does any other path give you a new apartment? I've played a bit into Malk and one other and haven't gotten another apartment yet.

If you play as a Tremere, you can get a room at the chantry, and if you play as a Nos, you can get a nice sewer lair. You can also get the downtown apartment with any of the clans as long as you don't deliberately piss off the prince.

Oh. That explains it.
After being his whipping boy as a Ventrue, I've tended toward telling him to piss off...boy, does he get mad sometimes.

I started with nothing, and I still have most of it
I'm not a complete idiot... Some parts are still on backorder.

I just finished DCotE.
Does anyone else who finished it have any sort of idea how everything fit together? There were a number of plot threads and it seemed like they all were left more or less dangling. I get the feeling I'm missing some key connection, though.
Off to bed. Hopefully I'll have disturbing yet enlightening dreams.

I loved the ending, though it didn't necessarily all tie together with a nice bow. But it was perfectly creepy and in keeping with the style.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD! CONTINUE READING THIS THREAD AT YOUR OWN PERIL.
I went and tracked down the "A" game ending on YouTube, and things make a bit more sense after that. The "I am your father" scene made me laugh, but it was a nice way of explaining Jack's psychic powers.
Do you reckon there's any connection between the Great Race and the Esoteric Order? My guess is that the Order's underwater city is built on the ruins of the Yithian city (Pnakota?), which is why there's Yithian technology all over the place (and the occasional flying polyp), but much of it seems to have fallen into disrepair.
I'd liked to have seen more of what the various branches of the Order were working on. What exactly was the biological weapon that Sebastian was developing? Was it an airborne version of the "Innsmouth taint" designed to bring people all over the world into Dagon's embrace, or was it just a garden variety flesh eating virus? And what were the priests hoping to accomplish with the tablets? Were they on the verge of awakening Cthulhu, or what? I suppose blowing up the city put a stop to that, so maybe it doesn't really matter.
Very good game. I'd play through it again if I could somehow fast-forward through the annoying bits.

MORE SPOILERS
I think the priests were trying to raise Cthulu, Dagon and Mother Hydra, or all three, as part of the war that destroyed the city. I always thought that the cities of the great ones didn't really reside in normal time and space but between dimensions and times. By opening the gates to this world, the Cthulu pantheon would gain one more bit of advantage over the more benevolent types. Jack and his father were both hosts of those aliens, conduits of energy and consciousness between the dimensions and times.
And whatnot.
