Erm, why in the hell would you inflate it with something that would make it float?

Also...30-40m? Wow.

Like... air?

It didn't take off because it was filled with helium or anything like that, it took off because it was windy.  Like a giant kite.

Maybe they should have used a heavier material? /shrug, it looked to be very sheer-type stuff, like a parachute. If wind by itself could make it blow away, I'd expect to see more inflatables blown away.

Unlike so many other stupid ideas this one actually got off the ground.

Critics of earlier displays had said they were 'hardly blown away'

It was fairly thick polythene. How would heavier material have helped? Tall ships were propelled by sails made of overlapping sheets of heavy canvas. Anything that large that can catch the wind can drag very many tons with ease. The key to not being blown away is anchoring the structure such that wind doesn't get under it and lift into a position where enough area is into the wind creating a force that can pull the guy ropes out of the ground. It's why you stake down the ground sheet of a tent carefully - its area is large enough to pull the guys free, even if the walls are not. It's possible they could have better designed in break points into the structure to prevent this, but I'm sure that the causes will come out in the inquiry.

I visited the precursor to Dreamspace called Colourspace when it was exhibited on Glasgow Green as part of the City of Kultchir. It was quite good, though I did have a few enhancements before going, so to speak.
