I've been toying around with this idea for a long time...

Would you all be interested in a game trading forum? I don't see them on any of the message boards I frequent and I'm sure a number of us are eeking to play an old or new game that someone else has that's collecting dust (i.e. in my case I have Icewind Dale I&II, Baldur's Gate One, Morrowind, and a ton of other games I'd be willing to trade).

So, if I set up an extra forum, would people start threads with a list of their games they have that they'd be willing to trade for another game?

ps. I was going to wait until PHPBB2.2 came out with their sub-forum integration so it wouldn't be as noticeable on the front page, but from the looks of their Area51 board, that could be a while....

Wow, and I figured people would be interested in this instead of just making witty remarks just shy of being actual comedy.

Okay, sorry.  Actually it is an interesting idea.  I don't really have many games but most of them I'd be fine parting with.  Here are some game's I'd trade:

Serious Sam 1
Serious Sam 2
Shadowbane
Carmageddon 2
Outlaws
Half-Life 2 Game of the Year Edition
Age of Empires 2 +Conquerors expansion
Yoda Stories        ...lol
Pitfall   .... lol

GAH, rtfa. I just wanted to know if anyone wanted a forum made specially for this.

Oh, and Half Life 2 GOTY? I'll trade anything for that....

Like anyone's gonna want to trade their good games. =P

Okay back to my regularly scheduled derailment...

Is Rise of Nations worth playing?  I'm not a real big RTS'er but I loved the AoE games.

I used to trade games on Switchouse awhile back, they have since been purchased by Amazon Marketplace which is nowhere near as good IMO.  Switchouse was just awesome.  You make wishlists, list all your games and then either look for games you want or wait till people come to you for trades.  *sniff*  I really miss that place, although the dreamcast area pissed me the fuck off since 80% of the shit was blatently labeled as burned pirated copies requiring a modded DC.  I eventually reported them to the better business bureau because it pissed me off that much.  A few months later they sold off, completely unrelated I am sure.

Would I be interested in that here?  I don't know.  I am not sure how much use it would get.  I am not adverse to the idea for sure.  As long as you put it down at the bottom of the index page.  I would probably use it to try and get rid of a few games I have that don't run anymore on my system.

I'd make good use of that forum. I have some OLD games laying around (Heroes of Might and magic 2 :D)

My Soul for a copy of Suikoden II.  Sure, it is probably a bit stained in a few places, but I am sure that is nothing a scourging couldnt get out.

I could help you with that... but only if you would settle for the PAL version.  Not that I wouldn't want your soul, but I think I'd need a bit more.  Like cash.  I'm sure you would want the PAL console and television to go with with it.  For some reason, we've been hauling this stuff all over the world with us.   I KNEW they would come in handy some day!

Well, there is always ePSXe for those PAL games....

Its not cool like the Sega Master System that pretty much runs all those Euro games fine.
