I need a wireless router that works with WoW.  Does anybody have any recommendations?  I have an older belkin router (non-wireless) that constantly dropped its internet connection while in WoW, so I have some concerns about performance.

I've had zero problems with this Linksys router for any online games or anything else really. Has an ok webbased admin interface and rudimentary but effective wireless security and firewall.

Speaking of marketing, we're out of milk.

I use a D-Link router that has never given me many problems.  I don't have the model # in front of me but I recommend the brand.

I use the same router as squirrel with zero problems also.

Are you sure you don't need to do some port forwarding?

Nor me.  However, the usual patching bittorrent nonsense may be neccesary if you're into that kind of thing.

The few times I've used bittorrent, it bitches about my router or something, then goes ahead and downloads anyways without an issue.. *shrug*..

9 times out of 10 though I download the patch off a website, such as this one.

It'll still let you download if you don't open up the appropriate ports but it'll cap the download speed at something really low.

Thanks for the suggestions.

My last router worked ok until the server's population grew to a certain point, so I don't believe it was a port forwarding issue.

If your router works or does not work based on server pop, you either have a) big problems or b) a coincidence.

Have you tried connecting to other servers with lower pop?

Witty banter not included.

I use a Linksys WRT54G 2.0 with Sveasoft Talisman 1.1g firmware and have no problems.

I have that Linksys one also, no problems.

Interesting (to me) issue came up when I tried to go wireless with my new desktop.  I bought a USB Wireless card from Netgear.  This thing caused blue screen errors and hard lockups upon entering WoW.  Switching back to an ethernet connect cleared up my issues.

Still use the wireless on the laptop though for WoW.

It was over a year ago, but I'll keep that in mind if I need to troubleshoot the one I'm getting today.  The main issue was disconning while getting or turning in a quest, which Blizzard listed at the time as being one of the issues they needed to resolve.  It went away when I bypassed the router and plugged directly into the modem, so I asumed the router was the problem, but it could have been a coincidence.

That's also around the time their subscription base started to explode so maybe their servers were overtaxed.
