Seattle (everything on my body is crossed)
Denver

I wouldn't be surprised if Carolina beat Seattle, but I think Denver is pretty solid against Pittsburgh.

Carolina (Is Alexander going to play? Wouldn't change my pick either way.)
Pittsburg (this one hinges on how well Rothlesburger (sp) plays.  He toss 3 ints or one that goes for a TD and they're done. )

Alexander wasn't cleared by doctors to return to the Redskins game, but he says he'll be ready for Carolina.

He should probably throw it to Champ Bailey then. He might stop for a fucking press conference on the way to the end zone and not actually score.

Pittsburgh at Denver  If both teams play like they did last weekend, the Steelers will win by 21+.  I expect them to play a little worse and the Broncos to play a little better as the Steelers win by 7 or fewer.

Carolina at Seattle  Giving up 21 to the anemic Bears offense and losing Foster gives me some pause, but I think they have the talent to win and are finally utilizing it.

This post makes me want to squeeze into my badass red jeans.

Seatle (OMG, the colts lost, that was the greatest gift)
Denver (The stars lined up in the Steelers favor, very unlikely to happen again)

Holy fuck, the officiating was just clown shoes bad in the Denver AND the Indy game. Just fucking embarrassing. That Polamalu INT? Yeah, that was an INT. What the fuck? Of course, there was at least one pass interference call Indy didn't get that it should have. Not to mention that whole "let's stop the game because the dumbass Indy D Line wants to point at the barely shaking rump of a Pitt o lineman" that should have drawn a penalty somewhere, whether it be false start or neutral zone infraction. I can't believe Indy's D line was so desperate for a stop that they would stand the fuck up, cross the line of scrimmage to point at a fucking guy. I half hoped that the refs would let them snap the ball just to see these idiots get CLOCKED. You don't stop playing to call a foul, morons.

I'm with the "Don't let your key players take 4 weeks off" chorus now. Indy looked clueless in the first half. Part of it may be that until that first long drive of theirs, Indy didn't even bother setting up their running game. Which was the same mistake the Bengals made in the second half of their game against the Steelers. Then, by the time they are down 21-3, they have to abandon the running game anyway. And in the end, it all came down to the defense not being able to stop the Steelers running game in the 4th quarter. And Vanderjadgt becoming the biggest loudmouth jackass embarrassment on the fucking planet. Can't even make a 46-yarder. Wasn't even close. HOLY FUCK. I could just see Manning struggling in the after press conference to not say "YOU FUCKING RETARD KICKING BASTARD! CRITICIZE ME, FUCKFACE!"

Of course, he just criticized his O line, so not sure how that's much better.

My picks:

Pittsburgh at Denver - I hate Denver. Maybe it's just that I can't imagine the words SUPER BOWL QUARTERBACK JAKE PLUMMER. I don't know. I think Pittsburgh is just the better team. Rothliesberger has shown he's a better QB than people give him credit for. He's tough and poised. I like him. I don't like Jake. With two teams that are built similarly, I'm going with the team with the better QB, even on the road. The Steelers have shown that home field advantage means dick to them.

Carolina at Seattle - Alexander will play, but who knows how good he'll be? Even so, I'm still going with Carolina. I think they are better coached, especially defensively. Both QB's are poised, and Darrell Jackson stood up and "elevated his game" last week, but Steve Smith is just playing at a whole other level. He made Tillman look like a kindergarden cop this past weekend. Holy shit, he was good. The Panthers don't need DeShaun Foster to be able to run, but the Seahawks kind of need Alexander. I think this is the year of the Panthers.

Seattle - Just think they are the better team here.  The D just has to play Smith like Dallas did.... and having him get tossed out would be good too :p
Pittsburgh - I just don't see Denver pulling it off, I don't like Pitt but damn they are just playing some great football.

WEEK 3 Tallies

El Gallo - 7-3
Rasix - 6-4
WayabvPar - 6-4
Mr. Hat - 5-5
Tazelbain - 5-5
Sky - 5-5
Haemish - 5-5

Paelos - 5-5
Zetleft - 5-5
Sauced - 2-2

That leaves just the Super Bowl. To avoid a tie, make your pick AND pick the score (i.e. 20-17 Pittsburgh, etc.). If there is a tie, the closest score wins. Looks like El Gallo, Rasix and Way are the only ones with a chance to win.

Carolina over Giants
Redskins over Tampa Bay
Steelers over Bengals
Patriots over Jacksonville

then I'll take...

Broncos over Patriots
Steelers over Indy
Seattle over Redskins

My picks for going to the superbowl are...

Steelers over Broncos for AFC
Seattle over Carolina for NFC

Those were some dominating games yesterday. Not good games, because only one side showed up in each game. The Steelers did what I thought they would, caused Jake the Fake to toss up some stinkers. But the Seahawks really impressed me. They never gave Delhomme a moment to breathe. Smith never got open. Carolina gave up on the run REALLY early, almost conceeding that without Steve Smith, they just weren't going to win. Their O Line didn't show up, Delhomme didn't wake up until the 4th quarter. That hit Goings took was just brutal, I'm surprised his helmet didn't crack. I'm more surprised that Tatupu was able to play the rest of the game, as he looked like he took a bigger hit.

My pick for the big game: Pittsburgh. Seattle looked really good, a lot better than I thought they would, but I gotta go with Rothliesberger. I think he's a more poised QB, and I think he has better wideouts. Cedric Wilson "stepped up" big time in that game. Their O Line was big, and they never gave up on the run game. I think the Steelers' D can handle Alexander better than the Hawks D will handle the Steelers. I also think it'll be a good damn game, not a blowout.

Steelers 23-17

Seattle 34, Pittsburgh 24. I reserve the right to amend this after the euphoria from Sunday has worn off  tongue

Steelers 28-13.  The Steelers are better than the Seahawks and have beaten 3 teams as good or better than the Seahawks over the past three weeks.  When healthy, the Steelers, Patriots and Colts have been in a class by themselves in the NFL over the past few years, and the NFC is pretty much a joke this season with the Eagles collapse.  I'm not confident that the Seahawks, or any of the NFC playoff teams, would have even made the playoffs in the AFC.  If they were still in the AFC west, they may well have finished 4th in the division.  Beating up on a tired team's 4th string running back doesn't really change that impression.  Any given Sunday, of course, and the Seahawks do have an excellent offensive line (the most important part of any team IMO), but I don't see the Steelers losing without a couple big errors on their part (always possible with a 2nd year QB, Cowher and Willie Parker(who fucking sucks)).

Steelers have had an awesome run on the road, but I think their number is up going into Detroit. Seattle finally proved last week that they can dominate on both sides of the ball in a way I haven't seen other teams do yet.

Seattle 27 Pit 24 for the purposes of this contest I don't really care about.  :-D

What my guess really is: Pittsburg 24 Seattle 16. Bus scores twice.
