Anyone get in? And if you did, is it NDA? I am semi-interested in this, as I am sick of fantasy MMOGs, and this one looks a little like the old school sega phantasy star. A mix of fantasy and scifi.

Is it a real beta?  I got an email saying if I pre-ordered I would get into some type of beta at some point.  It lacked details and I didn't read it too closely.

Its in Beta Phase 1. I think the preorder people get in, in beta phase 3. No announced date.

Beta is in phase 1. No Nda because the game is already out in a few other countries. Phase 2 is suppose to happen pretty quickly as well. Phase 3 for preoders is supposed to be within 2/3 weeks. I'm not entirely sure Codemasters has any idea what they're doing. That's partially why I'm interested in this game. There's 10 other games I'd have localized before this one. I await full minutes of entertainment to come from this release.

I used to work with people in Codemasters.  It employs some of the most clever people I've met.  Online games are new-ish to them but they seem to have a plan.  I hope they do well with this latest venture.

I think this game is going to be way too much like Lineage 2 for my taste.  It looks even grindier, too, but then it IS Korean and they DO like their grind over there!  They are welcome to it.

Grindy or not, hmmmmmm.... Here's the answer to that one:

In RFO, you do not level that fast after Lvl40. Before Lvl37, XP is easy and you can feel yourself is leveling. It getting slower and slower, and eventually Lvl42 take 1 hour to gain 1-2% XP, if you lucky. Lvl45 could take 8 hours just get almost 5% XP.

Each death kill by mobs will settle you lost random amount of XP. The more you get close to level, the more chance you lost more. You could easily lost few hours to 2 days works when you die at high level.

Unless there's some sort of virtual reality genital stimulation sheath, it's not even possible to adequately insult people willing to spend 160 hours on one level using existing profanity. If you even install this game other than to look at the panties on the *cough* 18 year old *cough* character models, you're the saddest failure as a human being that's ever existed in any culture, anywhere.

Stop it!  It's too early for me to laugh!  It hurt!  Bastard.  Actually, this now reminds me more of old Lineage.  At level 49, I died several times during PvP and lost my level, wiping out weeks worth of work.  That's when I quit.  I don't know what I was thinking playing that game in the first place.  There is NO game out now or being released in the near future that will satisfy my PvP side.  Every game I've played since beta and early release Shadowbane has failed in that department.  I don't even bother playing on PvP servers in games anymore as the PvP and those who partake generally just annoy me.

49?  I had no idea you were so h4rdc0rzor.  You should try EVE.  Unrestricted PVP and you can kill Space-French.  By the time you obtain a privately-owned Titan, Vanguard will be out.

Played one of the asian betas months ago. Guide is still up on exploiter.org somewhere on the main page if you want to see if it still works.

It's a typical asian game though - exactly like Lineage.

At level 4 you want to be in this specific field killing these specific monsters. Any weaker monsters aren't worth it, and the next level up monsters kill you in 3 hits. Sit there whacking those brainless things for 4-10 hours and then move to the next set of monsters.

Repeat until max level.

I know there are probably some great folks working for them, Signe, but I haven't seen them successfully release an online game yet. At least that I'm aware of. And haven't they made some console games in the past? I thought that was their specialty. It just seems to me that they want a piece of the online gaming pie, but they're missing a part of the puzzle they need to bring it all together.

[edit] Rather than be a shit about it, I will just say that I hope they can at least release this and make some cash so they can use those resources to resurrect DE or make something else. This is a dev house that I've wanted to see succeed for a while, but they just keep pissing me off. Mind you, I can't do half of what they've done thus far so I'm not suggesting I could do better. I'm just disappointed in them.

No, I am in no way defending this game, as I could care less about it, except in a morbid sort of way. But I did read (I forget where) that for the US release they are tripling the EXP gain to put it on par with the rest of "American MMORPGS".

Yes, they ditched Dragon Empire but they aren't actually making these Korean games or anything.  I think they're already going strong in Korea and Codemasters is just bringing them to Europe and NA... much like their role with DDO.  I think.  Codemasters is shiniest making soccer games, driving games and those war thingys, although they put out all sorts of weirdo shit, too.  Whatever this plan is that they have with these Asian titles, they might do very well at it.  It doesn't entail them actually making their own MMO... just running them for someone else.  How hard could that be?

Oh it's still fantasticaly sad, but it at least implies that the person still has a need for interacting with people of the opposite sex -even if it's one that's underage. But remember guys, it's not underage if it's an "elf". "It's not kiddie porn, she got pointy ears! See, it's an elf! A 300 year old elf!". And don't even get me started on the ickyness that is the difference in male and female dwarves in Lineage 2. That shit's just wrong by any standards.
