It's coming out at launch for the 360. I'll have opinions then. Maybe. I might also get over my writer's block. I look at a blank page, I see nothing. I look at pictures of this generation of consoles, I see nothing [insightful]. Both problems probably stem from my eyes being closed.

If it's better than Red Dead Revolver (which wasn't that bad), and even half as open ended as San Andreas, then it'll be great.

Well? I want to root and toot, dernit. But I'm not dropping $40 on the dead man's hand. Spill the beans!

I'm disappointed that there's no multiplayer.

Holding out as I check out the Movies for awhile....Various reviews paint a picture of Gun that I didn't want to see. That being: It's short and not as open ended as promised. It still sounds as good as Red Dead though, but not good enough for me to rush out this very minute and buy it.

Why am I homeless?  Why do all you motherfuckers need homes is the real question.

Looks like it's stretched widescreen with no 720p support.

Yay. Another one bites the dust.

Console hate and high def elitism. You're on a roll today. Are you sure your avatar isn't the only picture on the net of your soul?

Heart the new sky, he's great!  Console hate is needed around here from time to time, make sure Haemish n Co. dont get too nice on us.

Which makes it even better!  The man likes nice things or TV's or monitor screens something like that.  He's rich living in the ghetto (hope you've got renter's insurance there buddy) I think it makes perfect sense.  He has to see ugly things all day, why should he be forced to look at substandard resolutions because your shitty consoles can't figure out how to make the world pretty!?

My gripe in this thread was about the pc version of Gun. In fact, I'd be better served waiting for the 360 version. I don't have some kind of blind, unreasoning console despise. I've got very simple and easy to understand reasons. The high-def elitism thing? Is it elitist when all the new consoles support it by default?

C'mon guys. I'm just a gamer who likes quality graphics. Your mockery is silly. Should I be happy to play things in a lower resolution than my gear supports? On a machine that can easily display that resolution, with technology (3d engines) that easily support widescreen?

It's lazy developers you should mock, I'm not bitching about having to modify config files or the registry, for crissakes. I know native support is questionable, given the proportion of hd games...but I keep coming back to the fact all new consoles support hd. But go ahead and mock me instead of the devs...it's just a sign of how sad this site has become, ya dirty dev fuzzlefuckers  :-D

I know what Sky is talking about.  It's not elitist to want your machinery to perform properly.  If I had a 16:9 monitor on my PC, I'm sure I'd be tossing out 'me too' posts.  It irks me that the Rev isn't going to do progressive scan.  It pissed me off when Diablo II hit the street at 680x480 resolution.  It irks me that my Denon receiver only handles 480p and 1080i.  It irritates me that BioWare Xbox games don't do widescreen.  Does this mean I have forgotten what it's like to live on $80 a week?  No.  I'm not elitist just because I want my things to work correctly.

Why am I homeless?  Why do all you motherfuckers need homes is the real question.

There was a time I dreamed of making $80/wk. When I was living in a foreclosed house who's owner was on the run from the DEA and I was taking showers with the neighbor's garden hose because we had no utilities. Burning construction scrap we stole for warmth. I know the bottom, I was kicked out of the house when I graduated high school and lived out of a $250 station wagon. That's why I find people tagging me elitist or poking fun at my nice toys humorous. I've climbed long and hard to get where I am and I never forget where I've been. Perspective and whatnot.

Anyway. Thanks for understanding, Yeg.

So... GUN. It was great fun while it lasted but hot damn, it was shorter then Fable, even with the sidemissions.

"Grats" to Stray. Too bad for Gun for being too short, or for not bolstering the greatest graphics? Or both?

Both. I wanted to root and toot. The closest resolution I'd be able to use is 1280x1024, on a 720 vertical, it'd be worse than Civ4 at cutting off the screen. Yeah, yeah, I'm cutting edge and whatnot. That'd hold water if the LCD wasn't 720p as of now (360, and PS3 next year; LCD meaning LCD device, not overall res, which is going to be NTSC for the foreseeable future).

And boo on short games, that's what the bargain bin is for imo.
