It's really not spyware. It's basically a silent version of Steam that's completely uninvasive and less of a pain in the ass.

It does show up in Spybot and has an autostart you can see from msconfig.exe, but it's pretty harmless. Microsoft AntiSpyware is more of a pest.

If you go to the website you can see that the game isn't "open" right now to the public. So, the patcher just dies on me. Unless I'm missing something. I'm pretty sure it's the fact that the website said it's closed to devs only.

I found some downloadable game named Fate. Is this what he's talking about? Why does schild know stuff no one else knows? I need to know. Yeah, I figured out why it wasn't working. I was following Signes link and that's not the game you're talking about. After looking at the screenshots at that link and remembering the ones I saw at GameSpot, I realized I was just in the wrong damn place. |

I did mention in a post or two that I had a free copy from MMORPG.com and there was a reason no one ever asked me if they could have it... even after I said I wasn't interested. I think think schild actually considered it until he stopped licking that toad. Good luck with the review if you can actually stop crying long enough to do one. No worries, though... if you don't I won't care. I'm just glad to see it out of the house. The itchy rash and feeling of impending doom have all gone away since I sent it to you. Ta!  |

I blame this thread for two almost sleepless nights now.
Damn Fate and its simplicistic and streamlined dungeon romp allure.
I evaded the game the first time around but I wasn't lucky this time. At the moment I could say nothing but Fate for RPG of the year.
It was a really really shitty year for roleplaying games otherwise.
Edited to not speak bad of Fate by ommission. It would have been a good game in a good year as well.

It was a really really shitty year for roleplaying games. Fortunately that doesn't mean Fate was a bad game. It is, in fact, a great game. From Wild Fucking Tangent no less. They definately deserve the "Best Lootz" award. |
