How do I deactivate this, aside from ripping the damn thing out in rage after my fat thumb hits it the 27th time when switching between alt-# and ctrl#?
This post makes me want to squeeze into my badass red jeans.
You think that one's bad. My keyboard had a shut down key. One press and that was it, the computer would close all programs and start to shut down. No confirmation click, nothing. That one got ripped out but fast.
That the saints may enjoy their beatitude and the grace of God more abundantly they are permitted to see the punishment of the damned in hell. -Saint Thomas Aquinas, Summa Theologica
Some old Sun servers at work used to have the instant power-down key on their keyboards, in the case of an emergency. It also got torn out after some accidental presses. Instant web server shutdown FTW.
I love the Windows key! It is right where my kids can hit it when sitting on my lap on BOTH SIDES of the keyboard.
Me: "Honey, you can hit any key when the right letter comes up, ok?" Child: "Ok daddy.......there!" Me: "Oh, anything but those two keys. Those break the game honey." Child: "..." Me: "Um, you hit it again. Please stop hitting that key." Child: "Can I watch T.V. daddy?" Me: *rub temples*

You probably didn't disable L1-A though. Though that takes two key presses, and you can type "c" to continue running instead of "b" to boot.
