Well I'm basing the movie stuff more of personal experience then anything else. I dont think anything beyond giant megaplex movie theater #45266 can survive anymore. In SF we've lost a lot of theaters and not just artsy ones either. Almost every neighborhood theater that had 1-4 screens is dead or seems to be going under. The only way they stay afloat is to really cut back their schedule, and to start showing random indy stuff. That and most co-workers and friends dont ever go to the movies anymore just makes me feel like they are going downhill.
Also I could give a fuck how much money any industry makes, but I'm more interested in the trends of the quality in the medium. Of course for TV I'm talking FX, HBO ect. but also even network tv has some decent stuff or so I'm told, Arrested Development, Family Guy (although its lost some edge somewhere), CSI (its pretty good, fuck you).
I guess I'm hoping somebody smart will be able to go all Nostradamus and promise me a MMG that doesn't suck complete and total ass in the next 4 years... Pretty Please?

A nation consists of its laws. A nation does not consist of its situation at a given time. If an individual's morals are situational, then that individual is without morals. If a nation's laws are situational, that nation has no laws, and soon isn't a nation. -William Gibson

Fairfax, VA here... I didnt even know that "neighborhood" theaters with 1-4 screens existed. The only theaters i have ever seen have like 12 minimum. Its nice to peek out from under my rock from time to time. As for people not going to the movies... well if the pigfuckers would stop making me pay 10$ to watch thier PEPSI commercials, maybe i'd go more often. Maybe if directors weren't such a bunch of fucking pansies making movies that are PTA-approved PG-13 borefests that require a Keith Richards designed combination of stimulants to keep your ass from sleeping threw. We need more Cube and Equilibrium. As for your mmog future, think Baskin Robins. Thats right, 31 flavors of WoW. Lick it up.

You are a cruel cruel person, the truth is sometimes far too painful.
