So, a while back they announced Adventure Player for the PSP.
Ripped apart from a google "
engrish transration of the website:
If you use private game production tool " ADVP studio ",
Anyone can draw up the original contents simply.
Taking in the picture which was photographed with the digital camera and the picture et cetera which was processed with the personal computer to the ADVP studio,
Anyone can draw up the original work.
With idea circumstance, not being limited to the framework of the adventure game various
It is possible to draw up the contents.
In other words:
You can make and distribute games. It comes with a full development kit for the PC.
This will, no doubt, result in a market flooded with wonderful hacks, mods, and other fantastic toys for the PSP. Comes out June 30th in Japan. Unfortunately, no american release date has even been mentioned. If it comes over here, there's no doubt in my mind it would drive the sale of memory sticks among geeks though. On the bright side, the PC development software will be downloadable once AVP is released in Japan. So things may still work out for hte best over here in the states. Letting your consumers make content for your console. This sort of thing is just brilliant.
From Gamespot (sorta old):
Of course, regardless of what type of games users create, they'll be able to send them to fellow PSP owners via the Internet or via the PSP's Wi-Fi connection.
Adventure Player will be released in Japan this June. The game will be priced at 3,990 yen ($38). There are no immediate plans to release the utility in North America.
I just wanted to share my joy with all of you at 5:21am on this fine morning. Yea, I know the gamespot info about the game is a month old. And that's why this isn't in industry news.
