"Five new realms! 13:03 PST 2/22/2005

The five realms listed below have just gone live and are now available to players. These give both new and existing players the opportunity to begin their adventures in Azeroth on completely untouched realms!

Eldre'Thalas - PvE
Firetree - PvP
Spirestone - PvP
Shadow Council - RP
Scarlet Crusade - RP"

I will be starting anew on one of these servers, PvP or RP. Not sure which yet.

Looks like I'm going to do some Shadow Council action. Huzzah!

I am thinking about starting up an PvP character as welll- might be good to do it on a new server. Anyone want to join me?

I am thinking about playing an Alliance character too. I feel dirty

Spirestone is already high population and Firetree is east coast. Based on my adventures with pings to Earthen Realm, I think I'll stick to my fruity new RP server.

I didn't like my experience on a PvP server in WoW and found that I could have just as much PvP, if I want, on a normal server.  Strange... I disliked PvE servers in most other games that offered both.

I'd probably make an alliance character on one of the RP servers if someone else wanted to.   Just to see the other early leveling quests.  Perhaps I should also play one of the classes I ridicule in order to get the maximum benefit out a of new experience.

Ditto, I'd rather a PvP server.

It would be good to start a character on a new PvP server.  There will be a level playing field and could be good fun.  My problem is, of course, I'm so casual that I'll just fall behind, anyway.  For some reason, high level players take great pleasure in killing my wee n00bs.  I always suspect it's you lot doing it.

I started up an undead rogue on Spirestone (Pacific PVP) and intend to make it my horde server. My brother will probably do the same when he comes home.

Incidently, the undead start zone is PACKED as you'd expect so here's some quick and easy advice: don't do the rattlecage quest, you'll waste far too much time trying to get 12 of the buggers. Also, don't do the quest to kill and bury samual, he is a bitch to get normally... currently his long respawn timer takes WAY too long to make camping him viable. The quests on the scarlet crusade in the very starting area are also undoable (but not the ones you get from brill). Just a heads up.

Unfortunately, this is rarely the case, since the most obscene e-peen wavers of the PvP crowd love jumping to new servers and being the first Ubers to gank the enemy side.  Catasses ruin it for both sides of the fence. cry

You're probably right.  I have a brilliant solution, however.  When one person on the server levels... everyone else on the server should level with him.  Of course, they'd have to wipe to make it work.  Whaddaya, think?

I met Ego last night. He plays Tichondrius these days as a level 60 rogue, but is starting an alliance character on Firetree. As a bet to see how long it would take to get a name change, he is called Buttsecks.  rolleyes

I am going to stick with ER.  I don't see the point in being scattered on multiple servers, except in the case of PvP vrs PvE.

I have 9 lines of chat available in my chat box, and if someone spoke to me their text would be gone before I could read any of it. And it was just about ALL shit. So yeah, avoid if possible.

Blah I thought I started my alts on the central server, but I was on the mt server. Pings were getting pretty bad lst night, though it didn't seem to affect gameplay at all. Damn them both being SC...SC(m) was pinging >250, SC(c) was pinging >180 the first night, but >60 last night. Of course, several of my names were gone already, heh.

Anyway, to add to the conversation, I've also found that you need to turn off localdefense if you're not on a pvp server. Apparently there was a 10th level raid on IF, heh. But the spam in localdefense as people went on about it...ears bleeding...and of course throw in some rp nazi nonsense just to make it a bit more annoying than normal. Right now I have no global channels on my newbie, and I'm eyeing /yell...baby robot muhammed is rusting from the tears, kids.

What I do is tear off the combat tab and place that over the other side of the screen. Then I set it up so I only have my (and my pet's) damage and damage dealt to me. I put loot and other stuff there too. My chat tab I limit to tells, guild, party, raid and local says. All the trade, general, local and world defense I put on another tab called "wibble", which hides behind my chat tab and is rarely if ever seen.

I considered creating an alt on the new server, but I was busy watching the drama of guild officer fighting and associated meltdown. Needless to say, I was somewhat involved in the drama by being in the wrong group at the wrong time. Lots of tells from both sides. Fun stuff. Then I went and killed Nock a few times and felt better.

Everyone give up on their alts yet?

If anyone is making Alliance characters, please post. I'd be happy to start with you.

Alternatively, if anyone is already in an Alliance guild, I'm begging for an invite.

My buddy the eqholic just got WoW last night, so I'll be on ER for a while helping him out, showing him the ropes, etc. So my alliance alts on Scarlet Crusade are going to languish for a bit. I did start a new Shaman on ER to play with Mr. Holic. My guess is he will play a mage or a warlock, he was a wizard in EQ.

What server were you looking at, Stray?

I guess any are fine with me...Though I have some names camped for (would be) Alliance alts on a few servers:

Blackrock, Archimonde, Warsong, and Spirestone for PvP.

Hellscream and Scarlet Crusade for Normal and RP.
