I'm about to head to Scotland for a couple of months. (Just south of Edinburgh.) We're renting a place that has no Internet. I've spent ages on the web and on the phone trying to figure out how to get Internet for the two months, and in the end am looking at pay as you go mifi. So far, the only company I've found that offers it is EE (here). It's crazy expensive (70 GBP for the device and 90 GBP for 6 Gb), and I can't find out how well it will really work. I don't mind the expense so much (work will pay), but the chance of spending that much and getting crappy service is not appealing.
So, I'm asking the "locals", if any of you are reading this thread. Are there other providers of mifi I should be looking at? Are there other obvious solutions I should be looking at? Do any of you use mifi (or EE) and care to say anything about it?
I use EE for my Windows phone. In the centre of Edinburgh and Glasgow, it's blazing fast and my work pays. I live about 20-25 minutes from Glasgow and I'm still getting blazing speeds and coverage.
If your work is paying, let 'em and take your chances. That said, Engels will know better.
