I know we've got some renderers here, so I've got a question for you.
If I provided you with a model of a kiosk (revit base or exported to IFC, DWG or ODBC) and requested a few tweaks (void forms, nothing more) with lighting and material application, what's your guesstemate on an hours-of work basis?
I'm being told 40 by our in-house renderer and considering I've done the bulk of the work that seems ridiculous.

That does seem a bit high based on what you're providing; however, after materials, getting the lighting right is a lot of trial and error. Move light, bit of a render, realize it's not good enough/too much, reposition/change values, bit of a render, rinse repeat. And then account for the actual final render taking a few hours before you notice something wrong there too and need to restart it.
Yeah turns out I was being BS'ed because the team doesn't like doing stuff for my studio. When I exported the file to AutoCAD and opened it in Sketchup myself to show it was possible, suddenly it was doable in a day or two.
