Any way to get them without an SD card reader? My desktop doesn't have one and I can't be arsed to find and charge my old laptop if there's an easier way.

I bought this and Fire Emblem with a 3DS, and EO4 by far gets more gameplay.  This iteration is really good so far, but feels just a tad easier in the beginning.

I've been reading about this series, and I'm wondering...

How annoying is the entire mapping part? I don't have a DS, so no idea how well the touchscreen works / doesn't work.

Hard to say, because I think people will either love it or hate it.  It scratches a major pseudo-OCD itch I have.

Did you play Grimrock?  Imagine Grimrock with the auto-map feature off.  You could technically play the game without creating maps, but that would require some crazy memory skills for dungeon layouts.

I like it, but it won't be for everyone.

Ugh, I forgot this series only has one save slot.  My kid tried to play and killed my five hours save game.  Hardcore?

I enjoyed the mapping in the first one, but I get sweaty looking at grid paper.

Why am I homeless?  Why do all you motherfuckers need homes is the real question.

thxinfo!

My last experience with grid-paper mapping was Bard's Tale 1-2. At that time I swore I'll never play a game without a functional automap again. I'm tempted, but not tempted enough to get a DS. awesome, for real

The game does map to a certain degree. It doesn't fill in the walls but it does fill in the places you've walked. At least in the demo I walked around an area then filled the lines in at the end, was pretty simple.
