Truckasaurus Hands

She was a huge, huge hero for me when I was a wee lass, and I am pretty bummed she's passed away. Fuck you, cancer!

Here is the NPR article about it.

Yeah, I am pretty sad about it.  Heartbreak

First woman in space (a Russia lady, Valentina Tereshkova) is still alive, though!

Wow.  What a stunner, not only because a great lady died but also because it shows how fucking old I'm getting.  Pancreatic cancer sucks.  She was lucky to make it 17 months.  It's definitely in the "do not want" category.

Most of the time it's pretty much fatal immediately.  Of the cases I saw in medical school they usually had a less than 6 month window of survival.  It's usually very far advanced when detected.

I lost two friends to it in 2011, one was only 40 years old.  Bad bad stuff.

My mother died this september from stomach cancer. I held her in my arms at the hospital, she dozed off and ten minutes later she suddenly stopped breathing. Just like that. :/ :/ :/

Restoration is a perfectly valid school of magic!
