I just invested in a nice new Canon SD300 and now it's time to get some more memory. Y'know, because the shitty 16mb card they give you is barely enough to make a decent slideshow of Schild heckling someone. I've been looking at Sandisk's Ultra II series because there's a canadian based company that has the 512 version of them for $75 a piece. Everywhere else is selling them for $90+. I also just found out the same store sells 60X 1GB cards from ATP for $113, which to me is a deal considering the cost of buying 2 Sandisks.

My main problem comes with all the stories of 60X cards (512 & 1GB) having corruption problems and becoming unstable near the end of the card. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with SD cards. I don't want to have to return my first SD card after minor use. I do need a card with fast read/write because last year at E3 the camera I was using had some issues due to slow read/write. The site I'm using to find my cards is www.canadacomputers.com.

I bought a SanDisk Ultra II 1 GB card with my EOS 20D.
I've had both for close to 2 months now and have experienced no problems (having filled it many times with both RAW and high res JPG images). It even outperforms the promises in the manual, when shooting continously (I think the EOS manual promises 20-25 shoots with a high performance card and mine manages 30+).

My card came with a 10 year gurantee, which of course won't bring back that ruined once in a lifetime shot, but it does make me confident, that the makers believe in their product). I paid 150$ US for 1 GB.

I would like to discuss this more with you, but I'm not allowed to post in Politics anymore.

I cliicked this thread thinking, "Who the fuck are the San Diego Cardinals?"

/shrug

I have a Canon Powershot A-85 and have no complaints about it or its media type (CF).  Then again, I'm not a professional.  I just wanted a good camera for a good price.

The main reason I went with an ELPH line camera was for the Lith-Ion battery. I didn't want to deal with AA, rechargable or not. I also got a deal on an extra lith battery ($25) So, I'm pretty pleased with it. The only thing left is a carrying case and memory card(s).
