When was the last vampire move that wasn't campy? Nosferatu?

Sort of? Shadow of the Vampire was funny, but not camp.

I wouldn't consider interview with the vampire or bram stokers dracula to be camp either.

Twilight is certainly trying to be a serious work even if it fails miserably at every step.

Compare Fright Night to Near Dark.

vampirehipi23: I would enjoy a book written by a monkey and turned into a movie rather than this.

I remember not hating that one when I saw it a decade or two ago. It is running on Encore now, but I keep missing the beginning so I haven't rewatched it yet. Might have to find it in the On Demand selections.

Also-
Embrace Of The Vampire- not sure if this can qualify as campy simply because it inspires tent-pitching...

I accept this answer.  Saw "Let Me In" in the theater.  I was underwhelmed but it wasn't campy.  But vampires as a metaphor for abusive relationships does seem like the ultimate fuck up to Twilighters.

Its like a rated R pre-twilight.
