You're kidding?  The whole "Zombie Apocalypse Preparedness" thing is actually pretty cool, it gives you an excuse to do general disaster preparedness while making it clear that you're not paranoid about any particular threat (or without having to advertise what particular threat you're paranoid about).  Nobody ever expects the Zombie Apocalypse, but the things you need to do to prepare for one are pretty much the same as you need for any other disaster scenario.

It's a way to talk about a pretty depressing subject without being a downer about it.

I might actually make this a part of my weekend with my daughter. She loves zombie stuff, so getting her to help me pack a box for a zombie invasion makes this an easy weekend afternoon project.
