So, I'm not under a phone contract at the moment and at about 100 a month for the wife and myself, switching to their 25$ a month unlimited web/text and 300 minutes of talk time is looking pretty inviting.

Anyone have experience with virgin mobile?

Yes, I use it.  Just recently switched from my old grandfathered pricing (that allowed me to pay about 20$ every 1.5 months with the way I call) to the new 25$ a month plan that includes 300 minutes, and unlimited everything else (that I never had before).

No complaints other than signal at my house is horrible (for calls)...but I believe thats not the services fault. Just don't expect supper wizbang speed or all the bells and whistles your current provider likely affords you. The other restriction is your coverage my be more local than you may need, make sure to check. However I have been all up and down the east coast and haven't found any real dead zones other than up in the mountains.

I use Virgin in Canada and have no issues. They've been more than accommodating with any inquiries or issues I've had and they don't give a crap that I'm on a Student plan, even though I'm working full time and not in school.

My wife used it with one of their prepaid phones a few years ago. The service was complete shit, with tons of dropped calls. The cheapo phone was understandably shitty. But I hear their network has improved as they are under the Sprint network now.
