Washington Post ArticleForget about spending thousands of dollars hooking a treadmill to your WoW machine. Just learn to fidget, and lose 10-30 pounds per year! I've already mastered this. I suggest flexing every muscle in your legs and arms whenever you get bored, then pretending like you're getting coffee, and maybe walking by the cube of that hottie down the hall in the other department. 3x daily, and you're set.

I suggest flexing every muscle in your legs and arms whenever you get bored, then pretending like you're getting coffee, and maybe walking by the cube of that hottie down the hall in the other department. 3x daily, and you're set. NPR did an All Things Considered spot about this on the radio yesterday. Pretty interesting study. Dr. Jim Levine, who led the study, set up a treadmill in his office. He walks all day at 0.7 mph while working at his computer. There's a picture of him on it in that article on the NPR site.

He walks all day at 0.7 mph while working at his computer. 0.7 mph? You'd get more exercise by just waiting as long as humanly possible between bathroom breaks. An extended potty dance, followed by the eventual sprint to the nearest bathroom is bound to burn more calories than that. If you piss yourself, the penalty is that you have to stop eating 3 hours before bedtime, and then go to the gym for one hour the following day. There you have it...DV's "wait a long time before you pee" weight loss program. Bring the noise. Cheers............

For the love of god Avatard, that would kill him more surely than any delayed-urination bladder explosion. Have you no heart?

<3 DV
But on the speed note, he mentioned that he does 0.7 mph because that's the rate that allows him to easily use his PC. *shrug*

He seems to know us pretty well already.... Is it possible that he is SirFurry's cool-kid little brother, SirEvilPlushie? Perhaps by unbanning the IP address, they unwittingly opened the gates for him.

Yeah, because my whopping 4 posts a day are such an imposition on everyone else.
I think he was referring to the quality, not the quantity. I'm only guessing, though. Whoever Avatard is, I think he's been here before. I'm guessing he's a spoof member. We'll probably figure it out if he starts posting in the politics forum.

I can tell you, my taste in avatars is far more art faggy than Avatards. It's not me, and I'm still trying to figure out who it is. He seems harmless thus far though.
I mean, who's going to want someone stop who is just attacking DV.

I already accused schild because of the 'avatard' statement and I believe him when he says it's not him. I don't think he's ever lied to me. (Have you?) Anyway, google returns 4,650 for avatard... they can't all be schild, can they?

I wouldn't go overboard in crediting Schild with it's origin. Plug the term into Yahoo, and it comes up with this response: TOP 10 RESULTS out of 1,127 F13 is not found on that search. Bring the noise. Cheers.............

Yahoo? Geez, you and your avatar really ARE stuck in the past! :p
Maybe it's Geldon... he and DV couldn't seem to get enough of each other a while ago.

I try not to fidget, online or not. I don't want to chance ending up like this: My fingers are the only bit that gets any exercise at all. I could poke a man to death, you know.

The Times had a similar article. One of the points mentioned was that they watched various people playing tennis, and noticed that obese people were much more efficient when they moved for the ball and swung the racket. I found that rather ironic.

I found that rather ironic. Probably because the athletic person on the other side hit a nice shot on the far side of the court and the obese person didn't bother to run over and swing. Pretty damn efficient!

Not really, if you watch overweight people they tend to have more care and thought in their movements than most other people. It's the same thing how many drunks will be careful with their speech if they're not totally smashed.
