Just caught this as I was trying to log in (Steam has hit a brick wall twice this week forcing two repairs/re-installs). Snapped it up as I've been waiting to play the other two for a couple of years now. Good things come to those who wait. :)

Isn't there a free trial? Why not just try that first?

Isn't there a free trial? Why not just try that first? I've had the original game since it was released but held off on the two expansions waiting for a nice cheap compilation. And here it is. I've learned my lesson on these games. Rather than buy the original and each expansion for $20 to $40 a piece, I like to wait anymore until an affordable bundle is offered. I don't have as much disposable income as I used to when I was younger. Wife, kid, car, mortgage...you get the idea.

Ive been considering getting this since it's so cheap, but the free trial didn't exactly wow me. Mostly because there was nobody sentient to play with.

Yeah, the old worlds are pretty dead. With all the Guild Wars 2 talk I downloaded the client again and gave it a try. If you're giving it a go, I recommend starting with Nightfall so you can pick up the customizable henchmen. They make the missions in the rest of the game at least possible for a lone player.

It's a price that got me to pick up the x-pacs, myself. The original didn't wow me enough to stay long, but I still popped in from time to time to check it out. Now if only I'd done so since they implemented this "you must know a characters name" at login. I can't get into my account now that it's upgraded. Joy.

I wonder why Steam doesn't have Eye of the North. I would've bought it.

I could only remember the name I stole from one of my old roleplaying characters. I was actually surprised by how esoteric my various insta-20 PvP character names had gotten:

Sigh...Anyone remember the great fights F13 had during beta? I still remember a tourney we Should Have Won, but the guy we had to move somewhere got bugged beneath the map. And the crazy Korean teams that made Schild name a character GoGo Team Korea.

It doesn't really need it, you can just buy it from the in-game store. With the way GW stores/downloads its data Steam is sort of irrelevant.
