We're changing hosts again. Moving to a semi-dedicated location this time. If that still has problems in the next month, we'll be getting a dedicated server.

In addition, statistics weren't tracking even REMOTELY correct, so the switch is even more necessary.

We apologize for the pain in the ass the next couple days may become, though we're hoping for the move to be as seamless as last time.

First off, I'd like to point out that web hosts suck. Purely, completely.

Secondly, I'd like to take a moment to announce that f13.net will be moving to its own dedicated server.

Thirdly, I hope to move us in the next 5 days.

Fourthly, web hosts suck.

I've been using addfreestats.com for stats on all my sites since HitBox went pay. I hate stats packages based on webserver logs.

Or you could play sim city with your web server stats at VisitorVille.com (spendy though).

Awstats is what we're going to be using now and it is plenty nice.

If you're reading this then you're on our new server. We will be using the IP address until the new DNS information for f13.net goes through the internet. There should be no more hiccups, except for DV after another drinking binge.

Looks like most of you made it here ok. We'll be posting an article pretty soon about what the new server means to you all. Anyway, Happy New Year and enjoy solid performance.

According to the calculations, the stats analyzer we're on now (AWStats) seems to be performing at about 30% of handwritten guesstimation. We'll tinker with it. Doesn't seem to be catching things like when someone hits "new post" or clicks on the little orange icon to go directly to a new post. It's apparently tied to things that end in .cgi, .php, etc. I think cavemen have programmed most of the current stat analyzers. Other than that, at the very least, it's working in real time, so we can very easily see how the peak hours (11AM EST-4PM EST if you were wondering) effect the server.
