Tinkerfest is here!! The gnomes of Norrath have resurrected their holiday from more than 500 years ago. This celebration of all things gnomish will bring you new gnomish house items, new shinies to collect, and lots of fun! Look for signs of celebration in gnomish hangouts - Gnomeland Security in Steamfont Mountains, Temple Street in Freeport, Baubleshire in Qeynos! The festivities will run from 12:01am July 24th until 11:59pm August 3rd PDT. See you in Norrath!!

So now instead of running around a zone looking for shinies, you can run around a home city looking for shinies!  I went hunting in both Temple Street and Baubleshire today.  TS had a much better spawn than Baubleshire and I saw almost no shinies in Gnomeland Security at all.  TS was pretty camped, too, so it's not like there wasn't anyone grabbing them.

It's pretty much nothing but housing items this time around.  There was someone complaining about only having 2 quests to do, but others pointed out that FF and NotD started out small as well.  I dunno, I'll get the shiny collection finished on all my alts, maybe collect some extra sets to save for down the line, but really, this is kind of "eh" for me so far.  Sure, I like some of the new furniture items, but none of them really fit into my housing layouts without some major reworking.  At least the moonlight madness stuff is usable in any garden, but all those cogs and stuff aren't that compelling to get, IMO.

/punt

Tuned in, immediately get to watch cringey Ubisoft talking head offering her deepest sympathies to the families impacted by the Orlando shooting while flanked by a man in a giraffe suit and some sort of "horrifically garish neon costumes through the ages" exhibit or something.  We need to stop this fucking planet right now and sort some shit out. -Kail

Well, I am on Antonia Bayle, which is the RP server, so I'm sure some guild could set up and run nekkid gnome races.  The level 1s trucking through a zone like EL perhaps?

It's actually an EQ 1 thing, running a level 1 Gnome from Ak'Anon all the way to Qeynos, but this mention of a Gnome special event reminded me of this.

I know very little of the geography of EQ II (only played near the end of Beta) to know if there's something similar you can do in that game.

Travel is pretty safe and you'd respawn a lot of times closer to your destination than you got killed.

If you can read this, you're on a board populated by misogynist assholes.

Depends on the zone you try to travel through. I wouldn't mind seeing lv 1 gnomes trying to run through Butcherblock. Possible, but you can bet they would be dying in droves.  awesome, for real
