I played a couple of turns, I`m lvl 5 now. I don`t get it. How do I change zone, what's the point?

A portal appeared for me at level 7. Also, healing items started dropping. It seems things open up more as you progress.

I can't even work out how to attack other players, every time I click on a player I can't see the option to attack.

Me too, but I'm making progress thanks to a diet rich in Green Abobos. I'm still in the Proving Grounds. Are there any stores in here or should I just keep eating people instead of exploring?
I don't know that this game will hold my interest for longer than previous web games, but so far it's doing OK.
