For all that is sweet and merciful in the world... Trailer doesn't have any sort of release date, system information, or copyright data to get some sort of timetable. I mean, we know when the original trailer came out, just saying. >_>

Looks fantastic. I still haven't played RE4 (have played all the others) and I consider the Silent Hill series to be better, but RE4 and now this looks great. Is RE4 still worth picking up ?

Are those scenes with 20something zombies all in close quarters actual gameplay? If so,

I suspect so, since they have the same type of feel that the gameplay had in RE4, with the way the laser sight moved and such.

The zombies have some damn fine pathing, then, to all go after the player at once in those close quarters without getting caught up on each other (it didn't look like they were noclipping). Should make for some very unique fights.

You need a controller for the PC version since there's no mouse support.

Play the PS2 version on the PS3. Failing that, play the PS2 version. Worst case, the Gamecube version. Edit: If you have a Wii and a Wavebird, most definitely play the GC version. Though I'd still recommend the PS2 version over it. All the extra content without having tacked on waggle. So, yea, PS2 version.

Wow. WTG Capcom. Hand-to-hand combat should almost always be avoided. Given a zombie's lack of speed, it is much easier to run (or walk quickly) than stand and fight. However, it may be necessary to destroy a zombie at close quarters. When this happens, split-second timing is critical. A wrong move, a moment's hesitation, and you may feel cold hands gripping your arm, broken teeth biting into your flesh.

I don't understand what you're saying. The Zombie Survival Guide assumes a lot of things that are artifacts of the Romero zombie. Not the post 28 days/Resident Evil zombies.
Also, these aren't zombies. Haven't been since RE4. Errr LAS PLAGAS. As such, yes, WTG Capcom.

I'm kinda bummed they brought the plagas back but I guess you can only do the normal zombie angle so many times. Unless they wanted to change the RE zombies to 28-Days Later Zombies.

Wii version is the best. Perfect fit for the controls.

PS2 one still come across as better (than Wii, or GC version on Wii), even though it's not going to be upcaled at all?
Also, any difference between the original PS2 release and the platinum one?
ta.

The PS2 version is easier and has fewer characters onscreen at once. Schild is just hating on the Wii. The game is tailor made for Wii controls, it's not "waggle" it's aiming.

Quick update here; The RE5 demo has been released in Japan. If you have a 360, you can torrent the demo, burn it onto a CD or DVD and play it on your 360. The demo is completely in English (it's the same two level demo they've been showing at the trade shows).

I can't watch at work. Have all the black people been changed to white people, and has "African village" been changed to "Greenwich, CT"?

I've only played through each of the demo levels once so far so I'm doing my best to remember here. I wouldn't say that the black people have been turned white. Even in the video link at the top of this thread from 6 months back, when they show the actual in-game stuff you can see that the "zombies" have a variety of skin tones. I do seem to recall the really dark skinned zombies being few and far between though. Now that you mention though, I'll have to watch the cutscene in the first level again, since in that trailer, everyone in that scene is particularly dark.

I was buying a guitar pedal through amazon and couldn't pass up RE4 for $5, ass or not (since I don't have any consoles it was released for).

RE 4 is WELL worth it.
And zombies in Greenwich CT? Go a bit further east to the casinos. All the zombies are there.

Perhaps it has been too long since this happened, but I am referencing the minor controversy last summer when a few black bloggers complained the first video was racist.
