As my life gets slowly consumed by the internet I'm finding that the number of blogs I read (possibly correlated with the number of quality blogs) is on the up. I thought I'd throw the one's I track in my day-to-day in case anyone else is interested. I won't bother with stuff like WIRED, 538 and HuffPo as those are so mainstream now that I would be amazed if the majority here haven't already made a decision on whether they like them or not. I'm more interested in the lower-profile, high-quality stuff that you may or may not have heard of.

Dark Roasted Blend - This one is fun, and has a decently intellectual bent at times. It's just collections of photos, however they are not intended to be necessarily humorous; rather they are intrinsicly interesting.

War is Boring - The personal blog of a war correspondant as he covers conflicts around the world. He gives a more intimate and detailed perspective of conflicts than I get from traditional news sources. His coverage of Somalia I found particularly interesting.

Hope you like them, feel free to shamelessly self-promote if you want.

The only blog I read is Bad Science - Ben Goldacre writing about abuse of science in the media and industry. Not updated very often but always worth it.

Edit: Oh and a couple of photog blogs, Joe McNally's and Chase Jarvis's, both for industry insights more than anything else.

"Bourgeois society stands at the crossroads, either transition to socialism or regression into barbarism" - Rosa Luxemburg, 1915.

I've pared down to 89 feeds that I read daily in my reader (and a bunch more that I read weekly or so).

Most are pretty specific to my interests, but some possibly universally interesting ones are:

http://calculatedrisk.blogspot.com/ - Watch the collapse of the economy, with graphs!
http://www.bay12games.com/dwarves/dev_now.html - Dwarf Fortress updates, daily
http://www.ecogeek.org/ - Eco-friendly technology news. . mostly alternative energy
http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/ - Awesomely written PC gaming coverage
http://www.sciencedaily.com/news/matter_energy/ - News on advances in science that will blow your mind pretty much hourly
http://torrentfreak.com/ - BitTorrent and general media rights news
http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation - Yahtzee!

I'd go with The Lawdog Files with The Pink Gorilla Suit being one of the funniest damned things I've ever read online.

He's a Texas Sheriff who was originally a Brit. He's got some awesome stories from his childhood, two of which you can find here.

The only blog I regularly check:

The Antick Musings of G.B.H. Hornswoggler, Gent.

Andrew Wheeler used to be an editor for the Science Fiction Book Club,  and now works for a publisher selling accounting texts ( awesome, for real).  Lots of quick reviews of comics, scifi, fantasy and horror.  Has some great blogs on the publishing industry and the business of publishing.

This was also where I was redirected to the "Oh John Ringo NO!" stuff,  which provided hours of entertainment.
