I just wanted to point those of you to this thread on CorpNews. One of the members of the little "Lummite" community, Oxenfree, passed away yesterday. She didn't post her much, but I remember her from the Player2Player days. She's always been a friend to anyone who wanted it. Even if you don't post there, please offer ZenScrotum (her widowed husband) your condolences on this tragedy.

I read that. Man, that really sucks. She was what, 25? Any idea what happened? It sure seemed sudden.

I can't imagine how Zen feels right now. /sadf

Yeah, I saw that. I've only started lurking around since the end of WTO, but I remember a little about her. Seemed like a very genuine and lovable person. Probably won't post on Corp though. I don't know Zen and it wouldn't be right, I think. Still, I hope all the best for him.

Life has a way of really sucking sometimes. I guess in the end, it will probably be explained to us as why.

All the best to Zen. Stay close to your friends. Sorry for your loss.

I wanted to post my condolences but it looks like I'm still banned there.  Does Zen read f13?

My condolences go out to Zen and all of Oxen's family.  I hope her survivors can find some comfort in each other at a time like this.

Ah man, that sucks, I liked Oxenfree though I didn't communicate with her often.

These reminders of my own mortality serve also to bring me back into perspective with the fact that remaining at 230 lbs is less than ideal.   I oughtta get on the treadmill a bit this weekend.

Those of us who write blogs often do so in hopes that, should we end up shuffling off this mortal coil, we'll at least leave behind something significent to remember us by, in a way, achieving an immortality of sorts.  Well, does it?

I'm IP banned from corpnews (don't ask).  Can someone quote the original post from the thread here?

Quote from: Zen
At around 3:00 O'clock yesterday afternoon, at Baton Rouge General Hospital, Caroline Martha Rea, known to all of you as Oxenfree, passed from this world. I was by her side the whole time, and she went painlessly. Oxenfree and I had been a part of this community for many years and considered most of you to be part of our family. She was the love of my life, my equal, my other half. The world is much the poorer for her passing. I'd ask that each of you say a prayer for her, in your own way, that her journey might be eased. I'd ask the same for myself, that I may carry on.
