Dead Space.

Dead Space seems to be coming to completion at a more than rapid pace than expected which is not the most common thing in this industry. The date for the 360 and PS3 versions are now 10/14 and the PC version is dropping on 10/20. I can only hope it gets pushed up again. To be fair, I'm a greedy, impatient jerk.

Also, noknownsurvivors.com is actually pretty goddamn neat if a little overly interactive. The voice acting and writing is top notch.

I want to play this really fucking badly. Anyone else with me on this? I'm not in a vacuum am I?

I've only heard a little bit about it, but a friend of mine worked on it in the systems design department and he seemed pretty stoked. I figure I'll wait until it's run through the collective wringer of these forums before deciding.

It was on display at PAX. They have an innovative UI system and it is looking pretty sweet. I would recommend picking this one up.

Meh, it seems to me the typical AAA title these days involves a mutant rushing at the player, screaming into the camera, then raping and dismembering a small child; at which point you the player walk in, shout some obscenities, then throw prostitutes at the monster's crotch until it explodes.

Maybe I'm just getting old but it's just not appealing to me anymore.

I also like to be proven wrong, like when I thought I'd hate Half-Life 2 because it was so omg violent. Turns out they just weren't advertising the stuff I liked about the game.

I've been enjoying the Ben Templesmith-drawn back story movies that are out there, and the game looks like it could be a really solid survival horror/3rd person shooter hybrid.

Not sure about going up against Fallout 3 though, it might fall through the cracks.
