http://www.time.com/time/arts/article/0,8599,1725839,00.htmlThat's the actual title of the article. Mexican emos are being pounced upon, turning the band Fall Out Boy's tongue-in-cheek song "This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race" into something unfortunately too literal.
The attackers, catalogued as "anti-emos," include some from other urban tribes such as punks, metallers and cholos but many are just ordinairy working-class teenagers and young men. They deride the emos for being posers who are overly sentimental and accuse them of robbing from other music genres. With roots in Washington, D.C., in the 1980s, emo bands play a style of rock that borrows much from punk and indie rock. They focus on exploring their emotions (hence the name) with a particular dwelling on typical teenage depression.
It's as serious article but I can't read it without cracking up. It's so earnest in the way it talkes about emos and metallers. If even included a Mexican emo music video.

Mexican music "scenes" are getting pretty rowdy in general lately (punk and metal), but yeah that's pretty funny.

As a former Waver and wannabe Goth, it's kind of scary. Plus I don't like the whole beating up on people thing.

Hahahaha! I'm really good at this!

Hey man, I went through being a metal kid in a hardcore punk town.
Deal with it, emo kids. At least you don't have to memorize what different color Doc laces mean.

Okay, I hate emo as much as the next guy. I subscribe to the "Emo- Like Goth, but for pussies." belief.
That said, doing anything more than snickering at the tight jeans and goofy hair is really uncalled for. It's a teenage fad, they'll grow up in a couple years and be done with. We really don't need to start some sort of anti-emo war, and we certainly don't need to go beating people up.
Course, Mexicans are crazy. That's not a racist statement, that's based on personal experience where I was involved with a girl whose parents were from Mexico for 5 years and got to hear alllllllllllllll the stories. Mexicans are goddamn crazy.

Plus I don't like the whole beating up on people thing. I hear being on the giving end is loads of fun. Of course I've always been on the receiving end so I am not too fond of beatdowns. Course, Mexicans are crazy. That's not a racist statement, that's based on personal experience where I was involved with a girl whose parents were from Mexico for 5 years and got to hear alllllllllllllll the stories. Mexicans are goddamn crazy. There are definitely some culture clashes that go on with the US and Mexico depending on the generation you are talking to. Some Mexicans I've met are pretty mellow, others were batshit insane in some of the things they say and do about life back home. Our technician grew up in Mexico and he is one of the biggest soccer fanatics I've ever met (and it gets downright ugly during the World Cup time). Regarding growing up, who knows. I'm still just as "metuhl" as I was back when I was growing up, but I do definitely have a more refined taste and more tolerance to kids being kids than I didback then.

My wifes gotten pretty good at socking me in the arm before I can say anything to the freaks wearing black girls jeans that don't even make it to their ass. Whoever thought that up ought be beaten to death with a toothpick.

When I was in Kingston for the Carlin show, a guy working in a restaurant had his pants down past his ass. I guess it was business casual, because he did have his shirt tucked into it so his panties didn't show. I'm amazed they let him get away with that shit. It did look hilarious and I got many kicks under the table so I wouldn't laugh when he walked by.
