I'm currently using the Gateway FHD2400. I am connected via a DVI-D cable from my video card which is an 8800 GTS 512 MB G92. Whenever I switch my signal format from "non-HDTV format" to 1080p, 1080i, 720p, the screen flashes a neon green, then everything goes to neon purple with black text and such. A screencapture of it yields a perfect picture, so what the computer is seeing is not what the monitor is projecting.
Ideas?
Edit: This also has happened in CoD4 when changing resolutions, except it went neon green.

Huh?
Is the overscaling on? also, what settings do you have on the monitor for inputs. Like is it wide/1:1 etc.
And why would you switch from a non-hdtv format on the same jack? Or do you mean like, the Wii to the computer?

Heh. Ok.
Lessee...
Scaling is set as "Wide". Should it be something else? Overscan is "off".
The default signal (from the vid card) is a nonHDTV format.
IIRC, you're running an nVidia based GPU, yeah? Go to the nVidia control panel > Change signal or nonHDTV format. See what happens when you change yours?

Why would you output in non-HD?
Why not just output at 1980x1200, surely the 8800GT can handle that. Hell, my 8600GTS does it with ease at 60FPS at full res in COD4.
Or am I not getting something. What are you trying to achieve by outputting in a non-HDTV format?

Wasn't trying to do anything. It was set to that by default. And if I changed it to a 1080p (or whatever format) it went all wonky on me.
Now that I've fiddled with everything, it's all grainy.
Fuck.
Edit: And now, the option to send a 'non-HDTV format' is gone.
Second Geldon: OK. Sort of fixed it. When I switched to the 1080p format, it automatically changed my resolution from 1920x1200 to 1920x1080. Changing the resolution BACK to 1920x1200 gave me a clearer picture, without the grainyness. Oh well. I'll just leave it as is.

I've never messed with ANY of those options. I just plugged it in, switched the input to HDMI DVI-D and run it at 1980x1200.
I've yet to have an issue. I'm also outputting to a second monitor at 1280x1024 for IM, email, etc.
Does the 8800 output in a friendly HDCP format? Are you using the cable that came with the monitor?

Did you use an adapter to go from DVI-D output on your vid card? Or did it already have an HDMI output? My 8800GTS only has 2 DVI-D (and I think an S cable, can't remember). I have a DVI-D to HDMI cable around here somewhere.... Does the 8800 output in a friendly HDCP format? Are you using the cable that came with the monitor?
It SHOULD, I believe. And I'm using the cable that came with monitor...The DVI-D one...

I love my TV an' hug my TV an' call it 'George'.

My 8800gtx is supposed to be hdcp-compliant. No way to know without a bluray player, though (lol hddvd). My tv is hdcp despite its age. Bluray drives still too expensive @$180ish.
