Games that are developed for 5 years rarely live up to the hype. A decade long development cycle just screams "I have no idea how to design a game. Ohh look, more blow and hookers."
Before TF2 came out I would have agreed with you. |

Seriously. The thing from TechTV they keep is fucking Xplay? I used to think Morgan was kinda hot on Screen Savers, but I can't abide the Sess and her on that show. Awful writing, tripe delivery. G4 is a pile of ass. Mostly shitty syndicated tv reruns anyway.

Before TF2 came out I would have agreed with you. You do have a point there. Unfortunately, the version they finally decided to release is pretty much a tarted-up version of what was already a great game, so I can't consider it a 5-year development cycle. Is it still absolutely fantastic? Yes. But I get the feeling the reason it took so long is they could never make the version they wanted work. |
