"I like this game VE-RY-MUCH!" (you have to say it to the Contra opening tune)
I got this for the DS a few weeks ago, and I have to say it really is a great Contra game. I still haven't beaten the 4th level yet, but you can tell by the details that they really did get the Contra experience right. Little things like how fast the bullets travel, and the timing of jumps an your weapons, or even the sounds that things make when you shoot and hit them. The certain "feel" of it.
I really miss games like this where consistency and timing was the key to winning. They don't make too many games like this anymore, so for a Contra fan like me I really enjoy it. It's one of the few DS games I might actually end up playing every day.
Anyone else enjoy it? I'd love to hear your opinions.

This game is just all kinds of badass. It has made me love my DS a great deal more than I already did. Sure, it's tough as nails, but hey, it's Contra... it should be tough.
(I would have never imagined that the people behind Ping Pals would have made such a terrific (and authentic) addition to the Contra franchise. Bravo!)

Yeah, I was very much suspicious because of their past games when I heard about them. But I made the leap and am glad for it.

I managed to clear the whole game on easy, which was anything but. I think if you play through on normal there are 2 or so more levels.
After you beat the game on any difficulty it unlocks a challenge mode. After you beat some challenges it will unlock the orignal NES versions of contra and super c.
The only bad thing i can say about this game is that the co-op requires more than one copy of the game.
