I can imagine that with Valve backing it, this will legitimize the hero defense genre in a lot of people's eyes.

But that Captain's salami tray was tight, yo. You plump for the roast pork loin, dogg?

I'm confused, what does legitimizing have to do with it?

Just opening people's eyes to the genre who wouldn't have looked at it otherwise, once it has a Valve logo on the box.

More people playing the genre = more games being made in the genre = more better everything

EDIT:  Well, okay, for clarification, this just means good tidings for the hero defense genre as a whole, but yeah. Still good news.

Why would Valve give this guy a team to develop new content for DoTA?  I don't get it.  Maybe they want him to make a new game?

It's hard to characterize. Not really RTS, not really strategy, not really action. Giving it its own genre is probably the easiest way to handle it but might not be the best.

Most likely a new game, yea.

That's the plan.

Edit:  Ohhhhh, I see.

vampirehipi23: I would enjoy a book written by a monkey and turned into a movie rather than this.

IceFrog has been a real treat. Patient, methodological, consistent, and hardworking. Out of all the challengers to the DotA throne, I would be most interested in what he would make.
