Out of the frying pan, into the fire.

Anyone know if there's going to be a platinum series yet?

I'm thinking about picking up a 360 next month to help me through the tides of summer, and I want to get a few of the 'classics' imo Dead Rising and Crackdown.

But they're like $60 each!

I figured it's been long enough that there might be a platinum/greatest hits series coming out soon, does anyone know when?

I can't see it not happening. Usually it takes at least a year after the console comes out for a few release titles to hit the cheapo classics. In my uninformed opinion I'd expect it by the end of the year - Depends if MS decide to kick it in for the Christmas market or hold it till after the Christmas market..

I bought a Platinum Series game for xbox 360 about the 14th of May.  It was Kameo, it is actually a lot of fun, the bad part is I bought Marvel Ultimate Alliance before the Gold edition went out May 18, so I had to pay for the Hero's & Villan's Pack from the xbox live download.  I think my battlefield 2 Modern Combat for Xbox 360 was a Platinum series too.

Check around, some of the first run games should start to drop in price.

If you're looking for cheapo games I'd hit up Blockbuster's used section or Amazon's reseller market.  I try not to buy brand new unless it's something I've absolutely gotta have.

Fight Night 3 and Saints Row are platinum games I do believe.

Crackdown specifically still seems too recent to me to be one of the platinum games.

Plus, a bazzillion people are buying it just for the Halo 3 beta so why bother marking the price down?

I got Dead Rising new for $40 at EBGames.  At the same time, I picked up Splinter Cell: Double Agent for $30.

Yup you did - I saw it today when browsing for something new to play (got Lost Planet, don't have time but w/e). PGR3 is a 360 Platinum title and a really decent game, not Forza good, but still really fun.

So I played a bunch of Crackdown this weekend.  Very good times.

I don't think I can play co-op on the same box though.  Who the fuck left that feature out?

Seriously, I was reduced to defending my friend on the sofa next to me from English-speaking terrists rather than unloading shells into his crotch.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance has co-op, but I don't know if I would call it good.

I would like to also, if we can do more than 2 people to a game.

Why is my 360 louder than both my computers on at the same time?

Is it the disk drive or the hard drive?

It's usually the disk drive, remove the disk to find out for sure.  Some are really loud, some aren't, it's a crapshoot.  A friend of mine got his replaced because it was so loud.
