Games I'd like to buy

Fable
Rome: Total War
ESPN NHL 2k5 (Sept. 1st and only $20)
HL2
Tribes: Vengeance
Vampire: Bloodlines
Freedom Force 2

Games I'll Have the money to buy
...

Fuck.

Oh, as for FF2, the sequel was always planned, as were expansions. However, Crave Entertainment, one of the publishers went tits up, fucked up Irrational's web hosting shit, and caused all manner of problems. EA, being their other publisher, dicked them around about allowing them to do patches to the game (much like the Total War guys).

Ergo, the Irrational Games guys never got the chance to make an expansion.

That's my list exactly, well, except for FF2.

Have to tack on about $1100 for some bitching upgrade for my comp.  Grrr.

Also for MMPORPGs:

Anarchy Online: Alien Invasion 8/31
Final Fantasy XI: Chains of Promethius 9/21

Also the week before FFXI goes into release in Europe, the base package containing FFXI and both expansions.

If you can read this, you're on a board populated by misogynist assholes.

Unless your monitor, all drives, and peripherals spontaneously blow up you can get a system that will run all you have listed for about half of that.  $1100 will put you top of the line video card and pretty nice sytem.  I just never know when the right time to make that jump to the front of the bus.  So usually play it bearish and when I notice I am by the emergency exit I move about halfway up.

I'd love to play Rome:Total War, but then I think about how I have both Shogun and Medieval right here, staring me in the face and laughing because I spent maybe ten hours on each title before realizing that:

a)I won't ever have the free time to really focus on the game instead of simply toying with it, and
b)I just plain suck at the games

In the end, I think I'll pass on Rome.  I'm already waiting for HL2, Tribes, and Star Wars: Battlefront/grounds/field/whatever.  Those should satisfy my multiplayer desires quite nicely.

Yup, waiting for a AMD64 board w/ PCI express, then an ATI x800 that will run on said board.

Should run me about $1100, if it doesn't (it should), then I"ll pick up and extra HDD as well.  My current system has lasted me about 2 years and I don't expect my computers to run that long anyways.

EDIT: To avoid the hijack, I just played the Rome:TW demo and am very very excited.  September is going to be quite the month.

Besides what's been already mentioned, the next block of Magic cards come out online in November I think.

Actually, I just went over to the WOTC web site and I saw some wallpaper for the new set.  It's a picture of a samurai type person, so I assume that the set/block is having an ancient oriental Shogunesque style.  I didn't gather that from the name.  Looks like it may be a cool set - anything that moves away from the Mirrodin block is good for me though.

What was Wizards thinking with the naming of this set though?  Now it's going to be called ' CoK Block ' ;)

Fable looks damned good.  I'll probably reserve it at the local EB.

I also have to eventually pick up Madden 2005 and/or NCAA 2005 for Xbox.

Hrm. Wow. I hadn't even thought of that. Pretty fucked up if you ask me. I wonder if anyone has gone out of their way to even think of that. As far as I know, the initials on the packs and the oracle text reading for the set is 'COK.' Heh. Marketing will have a field day with this.

About a week ago I plopped down $20 at my local EB to reserve:

Fable
EQ2
Halo2
and
KOTR2

I will probably also reserve HL2 and pickup the new Vampire game.

Yeah I actually have one of the Champions cards.  I went to my first Friday Night Magic last weekend, they had one to give out, and we rolled for it at the end of the night :).  It has a little "shinto temple" as the set symbol.  It's a standard one damage prevention healer with a mana ability to prevent all damage to target Legendary creature.  Plus it's a fox, which makes me worry a bit about pandering to furries.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't a ninja the same thing as an infiltrator, shadowblade, or nightshade wrapped in a towel?

I'd like to know how Ninjas fit in with Norse, Celtic or Arthurian myths and legends.. Else DAoC is going to be the second comic book mmo.

Apparently Fox People are pretty common in Japanese myth, with the number of tails an indication of power....maybe they will come out with a card called "Foxy Lady."

vampirehipi23: I would enjoy a book written by a monkey and turned into a movie rather than this.

Goddamnit, didn't you see Highlander 3!? The Scottish swordsman learned all his sword-fighting techniques from a shriveled Asian man in a cave, before Mario Van Peebles came in and killed everybody and got trapped in that cave! It makes perfect sense for Ninjas to be fighting 6th Century Arthurian knights.
