I'm registered with TEDTalks and once and awhile they e-mail me with some interesting stuff. This happens to be one of the coolest things they've sent me by far. E. O. Wilson won the TED Prize and for that got to make a wish. He wished for the Encyclopedia of Life. Just recently it got $50M worth of funding to get started and now they're starting the work on getting it all planned out. There's a video on the site that shows you what they want to do with the website and how they want the Encyclopedia to work. It's pretty interesting stuff.
