Came out yesterday. I had really been looking forward to this game. You know, Oblivion with multiplayer. But on some advice from some people I didnt buy it. Now all the user reviews are coming out, and I have yet to see one positive one.
This is to pass along the heads up, to not blindly rush out and buy this.

I tried to kill the hype for this game on 5 or 6 websites. I don't know if people took it to heart. But if they didn't, I hope they suffer.

There was hype for this game?

Have you tried the internet? It's made out of millions of people missing the point of everything and then getting angry about it

Somehow it was tagged with Multiplayer Oblivion. it turned out to Just Be Total Shit. And you could tell from the first trailer.

I don't understand the people who made Two Worlds. They made it so you have to be a man in the single player game but you can be a woman in the multi-player. Why? What a bunch of sad old plonkers.

Anyone actually play the game yet and have an opinion they would like to share? I'm interested in the game but there has been a lot of negativity about it.

The game is not polished. I'ts not optimized. It's not really user friendly, you have to figure a lot of stuff out yourself. The game does not make a good first impression on any level.
But if you stick at it, spend some time learning its quirks, and if you can overlook the technical shortcomings, there is a pretty fun action RPG hidden there. You just have to go through ... like the stages of grief. At first you're in Denial - the game can't really be this bad, what am I missing here? Then comes Anger - I just spent $ 60 on this pile of shit! Bargaining - how can I return this opened game? There must be a way out of this. Depression - well I am out sixty bucks, I might as well keep playing and see what happens, this is a bummer. Finally, after a couple hours of play, you get to Acceptance - hey, this game isn't really so bad, I kind of understand these menus now .. I can actually fight a group of boars without dying ... this voice acting is actually so bad it's funny ... I think I'll play just a little bit longer...

I don't think it's as good as Gothic but it sort of looks like it. It's not completely horrible but it's also not anything spectacular. It's nice that I don't seem to need to keep the CD in so Righ can play it at the same time if he likes. It was probably not intentional.

This game is a total sleeper. The more time I spend with it the more I like it. I actually really prefer this to Oblivion.

I actually really prefer this to Oblivion. Which wasn't that great a game to begin with.

Gothic 1&2 beat the living shit out of the last two Elder Scrolls games. Gothic 3 did fall down a bit by getting too ambitious, but it took a loong time before I had to take a break from it (like 85% of the game done, over a hundred hours in).
I'm still keeping an eye on this one...or should I say an eye on ye olde bargain binne. Is there a reason this isn't listed as X360/PC?

I actually got Two Worlds as a birthday gift and it's not bad. Not Great mind you, but i'd say it's worth a bargin bin price. It's a big sprawling first person action rpg. Graphics are nothing great but im not an eye candy person anyway so that doesnt bother me. Skill point character development, spell cards with modifiers you select, enchantable equipment via gems/items, alchemy, mounts, there' s a lot in here. As previously mentioned, the manual sucks and no real direction in game so it takes a little experimentation to figure stuff out. Havent tried multiplayer and may never. BUT, i would highly recommend people NOT try to play this on the xbox360. I think this actually designed for the pc and ported and the results are rather poor. I hear the minimap and fonts are practically unreadable on the 360.

Gamespot review also mentioned a slowdown that was more prominent in the 360 version.

ugh KBM gamers are fagging up our consoles with PCitis
I played the demo of this and enjoyed it, probably because it reminded me of Gothic/Oblivion doing the nasty. I got to around level 18 killing wolves and crap and then wiped out the entire central demo town, then I put cheats on and wiped them out even harder. I loved being able to combine crap items into better versions along with the spell card system. that said I think I've played enough.
also about the male/female thing: the single player story involves your twin sister, and I guess they explain why you have to be a guy somewhere along the line. not that it matters...
