Level 8 Elf Hunter on the RP server named Boomheadshot. I love this game. And, continuing a tradition, I made a Hobbit named Cokkgobbler on Silverlode.

So, is Chuck Norris a Dúnadan, Maia, or Eru Himself?

Save your money and read the forums. They're good. So far I'm finding them boringly positive, worryingly upbeat even. Care to share a few great slap fights?

I followed this game about three dev teams ago (1999-2000ish) when it had permadeath and was completely insane in many other ways. I may do this just for the hell of it- I love MMO launches. Things always get lame later, but the first few months are always fun if you can find the not-yet-nerfed stupidly overpowered class.

All life begins with Nu and ends with Nu. This is the truth! This is my belief! At least for now...

I love the arguments that erupt when people say "LFG" on the OOC channel.
I thought Barrens chat was bad. This is worse, because 75% of the time it's full of people arguing about how good/bad WoW is.
Saw Surferbarney yesterday. Time to make Gidget the female dwarf.

There are no female dwarves. Or at least, there are just "Dwarves," and you can decide what is in your pants later, I guess. Maybe the women look like the men.
I never understand the RP moaners. I just turn off the global channels and have a decent time roleplaying. For the most part, I find that if I take the time to type the extra few words to be in character, most people in my group do the same (that has been true of other games as well). I don't get all angry when I see someone with a WoW-style name, though. Their name does not affect my enjoyment of the game unless I choose to let it.
Personally, I am just enjoying the look of the geography, and doing some exploring. My wife and I made it all of 50 meters into Angmar the other day (at level 15) before getting eaten by a fire drake. Apparently one does not simply walk into Angmar, either.

Well, I think it's more regret that one has to take steps to ignore/minimize a whole shitload of players just to get a somewhat immersive experience in an mmo.
In LotRO, upon logging in, I turned off global chats and player names. I'm experienced. In one weekend I think I ignored a half dozen people, though I didn't test if ignore would turn off the baby mozarts playing chopsticks in Combe.
