So I finally have the free money to pick a 360 up. I'm going on a bussiness trip to Munich later this month and I'm considering picking it up there. Because zi Germans have get a lot better deals than we do and I might end up saving more than 150 Euro.

I have a couple of major concerns - one is, of course, warranty, but there's no going around that and I have a contingency plan if the damn thing explodes :) The other concern is "what do I do with the German interface". Can I switch it to an English one? Also do you think I'm missing something else?

As a matter of fact I swallowed one of these about two hours ago and the explanation is that it is, in fact, my hand.

You can switch the interface to pretty much whatever language you'd like, but unlike the PS3, the 360 does have region coded games...  Is the UK (I'm assuming you're British) considered a part of continental Europe's region?
